My pledge not to increase in size/weight

Well, So far, so good guys... I have managed to lose 3 pounds in the past 3 days... I am so very happy with that... I knew that chewing on popcorn would work... LOL Seriously though, losing 3 pounds makes a difference, and doing it wasn't easy, I have cut out almost all snacks unless they are fruit or popcorn, and I have been exercising like a creature possessed... Either walking to town and back or spending 30 mins a day on the LTT.. Discovered that 30 mins in one go was too much for me to handle, so I have started with 3*10 minute sessions... I will then up them to 15 and then to 20 once I feel that I am getting a bit fitter... Tomorrow is another walk to town, but I will be getting the bus home, picking up my baby sister and nephew from the bus station so I may not be around for a week or so... Don't worry though, if I need to I will come online.... Krissie

Ok.. Wasn't as good as I thought I would be today... The rain was horrendous and I decided just to stay home instead of venturing out... LOL SO to eat today I had the following: Breakfast A probiotic drink 30g Special K red Berries in 125ml semi skimmed milk Snack A small Banana 50g Sunflower seeds Lunch 8 slices of ryveta with philadelphia and cooked ham Dinner 2 bacon steaks 100g ham Cous Cous with fried onion and yellow pepper mixed through Snacks 50g popcorn 3 doughnuts drinks 2 cups tea 2 cups coffee 6 glasses ribena (380ml) 2 glasses diet ginger beer (380ml) So have I been naughty?? I dunno, perhaps should have avaoided those doughnuts, but they had no hershey kisses at the supermarket.. LOL Krissie I have been quit for 5 Days, 22 hours, 47 minutes and 47 seconds (5 days). I have saved 26.34 by not smoking 118 cigarettes. I have saved 9 hours and 50 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 28/07/2006 00:01

It is the finest drink on the planet... As for calories, if you dilute it one part concentrate to 4 parts water there is 3 calories per 100 ml... I prefer it made with 50ml of concentrate and 330ml of water... so in 380 ml there should be about 6 calories... I keep some small 33cl evian bottles filled with tap water in the fridge... Nice and cool for pouring into the cordial... Not that I am anal or anything about measuring what I eat and drink... LOL Krissie
And you are from Scotland.........that is sooooooooooooo cool!!! Sounds like wonderful weather there! Smile
Yeah well, it is a really beautiful country IMHO... Especially when you get a summer like we have had this year.. I am experiencing the first period of rain in about a month... It's been so nice and sunny and warm.. Downside is that it's quite hot and muggy at night so I haven't had a decent sleep in weeks.. LOL
I am so proud of you for walking such a distance (a bit envious, too)
I would like to thank you for being proud of me but the walking is nothing really, I just walk cause I don't drive... LOL, too chicken to learn. Seriously, I have to go into town this morning and the weather forecast is for torrential rain... Great, I'm gonna get soaked but I have to do it.. I took a pledge.. LOL If you want to know why I walk it's simple, I am one stubborn cow.. I refuse to pay 3.00 to get the bus to and from the city centre when I have a perfectly capable pair of legs... Besides I could do with the exercise.. Weighed myself today and I am back up to 11 stone.. I am only 5ft 4 inches tall, so that is pretty overweight... Thanks for the support...
yer aff yer heid! LOL That's the extent of me scottish slang! Wink
Here's a new one for you... (not that I speak like this you understand) Gonnae No dae that ya bampot!!! - translation - Please don't do that you idiot!!! Krissie I have been quit for 5 Days, 3 hours, 28 minutes and 18 seconds (5 days). I have saved 22.78 by not smoking 102 cigarettes. I have saved 8 hours and 30 minutes of my life. Well, as part of my quitting smoking I decided that I was going to be more active in my day to day life.... My buddy Mistymoon put me on to the FLYlady programme which I am having soooo Much fun with... My house shines so much it is scaring me.... :p I figured this was a gentle enough exercise to get me through the first few days.... BUT, and here's the but, I don't think it is enough to keep me fit and stop me gaining weight... So it's time to make my pledge here.... I will walk from my house to town and back (a total of 6 miles) at least twice a week... I can treat myself to a starbucks when I am there (that'll be my Wednesday and Friday treat....lol) I have bought a lateral thigh trainer and I pledge to spend at least 30 minutes a day on it... I also pledge not to eat too much junk.. (never been a big candy eater at the best of times, but I have noticed I am snacking a hell of a lot more) I have bought loads of fresh fruit that I can slice up and snack on when I get the urge... I think by doing this and posting a weekly account of how well I am doing will keep me motivated... I am amazed already at how much better I am coping with the quit just having you guys to bounce things off of... I am just about to retire on what has been a fairly easy day 3.... YAY, half way through Hell week.... I CAN DO IT!!!!! I now have a banner where I can see how well I am doing with the weight loss. Since I quit work in the middle of Jume I have gained back the whole stone I lost... Good news, the LTT has arrived, I have unpacked it and am going to spend 30 mins a day on it.... That's gotta burn some of this fat off me.. Hurstk and Broomsdew, I live in the nice tepmerate country of Scotland.... It really doesn't get too hot here for any length of time... We have had a great summer with the temperatures sitting at around a constant 77F... Not really that bad.... LOL I live in the city of Aberdeen, almost on the outskirts and the cinema is at the Beach... (well the one I have my monthly pass for anyway)... It's about 6 miles from my front door to the cinema - all downhill on the way there, unfortunately uphill on the way back... today it's a bit of a miserable day... It started raining (which is what people think it does in Scotland all the time)last night and I was going to go to the local swimming pool for a few laps, but I have to wait in for my LTS to be delivered... POOH!!! I hope you get a break in the weather soon, last night was the first time in about 3 weeks that the night temp here dropped below 60F and I actually got a full nights sleep for the first time in the period too... Hey Misty, No, not dedicated, just desperate to fill in those hours when I am now no longer sat with ciggie in hand.... I can't walk and smoke at the same time and when I was cutting down a while ago I walked heaps... That's when I lost a stone in weight... Not that it stayed off long.. :( I was planning on joining the gym when I start uni as they have their own one and it is really cheap... So this way I get a bit of a head start... Hershey kisses???? The only candy I could eat for days without getting sick of them... They finally started selling them here in the UK but I don't eat them often as I get bad sugar rushes (not diabetic but if I get too much/not enough sugar I have funny turns)... The lateral thigh trainer arrives tomorrow.. I can't wait.. Emma and I walked from our house to the beach today (a total of 12 miles) to go to the cinema.. We saw Cars and it was my treat to myself and to her for having managed 3 days... You know what?? I didn't have a single craving all day today.... Something ain't right!!! Take the exercise at your own pace Misty...
