Venting

Vent away!! It's good to get it off your chest. This evening to celebrate our first week as non-smokers, we collected our ashtrays and smashed them to bits with a hammer. There's something about destruction.. Hang in there! yeah Brenda! I have my hammer right here. Honey I am past four weeks and I am still afraid I will slip. I have nighmares about it. But at least they are night mares and not dreams. LOL Brenda, it is not always easy for you or for me but I'll be damn if I will be a cancer victim. Hang tight. Hugs, Navigator. I totally understand. I did the exact same thing. Here are a couple of quotes I found here that have helped. If you like these, you can search under "insprational quotes" I think. Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up. We would accomplish many more things if we did not think of them as impossible. Most of the importand things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all. I printed these out and keep them on my wall at work. I have quit more times than I can count and loathed myself with each failure. I have been smoking for 35 years, 2 to 3 packs a day. Stick around with us and YOU CAN DO IT! Vent away lady salmon! That is what this site is for. And if it helps you keep the quit, vent, hollar, scream, punch... whatever you need to do. We both know that keeping the quit is what's important. Most of us are either going through, or have been through it. It's tough... I'm told we can do a lifetime of smokefree if we so chose to. Good luck, Ron N.O.P.E. This is what I need today. I have alot of anger over the entire smoking/quiting/self loathing/stubborn/withdrawl.... I am hoping by venting I will get through the next first days. I have quit so many times that I make me sick. The whole drill and anticipation of what I know will come simply sucks. All the ups and downs are so familiar I am making myself nuts. I have quit for up to six months but typically can quit for 2-6 wks...then fall flat on my face. I get cocky. I admit it. So on this quit I shall seek comrodary. Birds of a feather... No lectures or scare tactics please. In the last four years I have battled the cancer creature twice, and lost my partner to an extremely viscious and quick assault of the c monster. But I am a stubborn ol' gal with an internal optimism that knows I deserve to become a non smoker. Yah I have baggage, but worn out stuff and I really want to live the rest of my life free. I need to do this. I must do this. I will do this. I just need to vent!
