We have parties like that here too Niks...but right now, you are very vulnerable....during my 1st 2 quits, I was the exact same way...I was so determined but yet so fragile. Unfortunately, due to finding out my aunt and uncle are / were dying of cancer, I couldnt not help myself. I fell off the boat and smoked 2X as much as I did before I even quit. My uncle passed exactly a week ago and my aunt is hanging on by a thread. I am a bundle of nerves b/c I cannot help them BUT I can help myself!! I am afraid if I fall off this time, there will be no turning back for me. I am fragile just as you are. Outside factors are more gentle and persuasive at this very moment for me--I could tip the scales and run back to what I know is best for me. I would reach for the cigs in a heartbeat if I could BUT I know in my heart, I am killing myself. I have a chance to set my life straight...I am making a commitment and a promise I made to my uncle on his deathbed...I promised him I would quit...now I am fighing for all what it is worth...my life. You do not have to punish yourself but you do not have to put yourself into a situation where you are fragile at the moment. IMO, drinking and smoking do not mix. Have a grand time but do not pick up the smokes--dance like you have never danced before---breath like you have never breathed before...live like you have never lived before BUT do not pick up the smokes.... Ok..here is an idea Niks...I love the non alcoholic Welches Sarkling grape juice / apple juice...so why not take along a few bottles for you? Or you can simply make your own....apple juice w/ seltzer water is soooo good!! Plus the juice is very healthy for you....buy a bottle of the non alcoholic stuff and try it... PS: you asked for us to help you, niks - but you have to help yourself too...

Hi niks - I have a question for you: why in the world would you put your Quit in a place that it can get hurt? You only have 18 days... your Quit is a newborn ...and it needs to be protected with everything you have at all times... Drinking this early in your Quit and not telling others that you are Quit (I read that on the other thread you posted on) is messing around with your Quit, and if you mess with it enough, you will lose it... Listen to me: if you are serious about quitting, and if you are determined not to lose your Quit, DON'T PUT IT IN JEOPARDY... Just don't do it... As always with any post, take what fits, and leave the rest. Blessings and Light- Healer My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 117 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,120 Amount Saved: $544.05 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 6 Mins: 21 Seconds: 30

Do some jogging, breathe the fresh air around you. Chew on some mints or gum. Do some deep breathing excersizes. Try to stay away from the smoke, second hand smoke can be more dangerous than first hand smoke. Remember, smoking kills your blood!! KILLS!!

Hi niks - I don't know if you have already left but I wanted to jump in andn urge you to be strong. Take joy in not smoking - quitting is not a punishment it is a joyful, beautiful way of life. Hold on to your quit and protect it with your life - because if you don't - it may mean your life. You are probably young and so fun!! and I would hate to see your life cut short by not being strong enough to enjoy life to it's fullest. There are many, many things to do besides smoking...like others have said before me dance like there is no tomorrow, find your non-smoking friends and make (all in good) fun of the way the smokers look with those nasty fags hanging out of their mouths. Look at their teeth - yellow? I bet your's aren't. Smell their breath - don't they smell nasty? I bet you don't. Smell their hair - but don't get too close to that second hand smoke - doesn't it smell horrible?? But I bet your's doesn't. I am proud of you and the 18 days that you have behind you. You have been through hell week and really no one wants to do that again. You are taking a huge chance but I think that you can be a strong woman - a credit to women everywhere - an example of a non-smoker to your friends. Who knows?? They will probably be jealous and ask you how you did it and how you are doing. Have fun...but Make Your Mark - Join the Circle - Don't Smoke.
