Well now, that really wasn't too bad....but the only thing that feels lighter at the moment is my bank balance, blimey how much does it cost to loose weight and get fit?? Anyway, I've been bludgeoned into committing myself for a year, maybe by then my metabolism will have been kick started again....it's incredible just what a powerful and damaging effect nicotine has had on virtually all the major systems of the mind and body. Very envious of you Free, 10 pounds down AND starting back at college. What subject are you taking? Penitent, I'm taking your advice and the prone exercise on the sofa is next on the agenda D2Q I really hope that one day I'll share your enthusiasm for exercise, does it really help as a stress buster as well? :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 160 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,816 Amount Saved: 800 Life Gained: Days: 20 Hrs: 19 Mins: 46 Seconds: 56

Sorry to hear it D2Q, try turning the anxious feelings into activity...anything will do, the physiology of anxiety is the same as for excitement, it's the thoughts we attach to them which identify them as one or the other. It may be that you figure out what you're ruminating on but in the meantime action works well as distraction and breaks the cycle. Personally, I think nothing beats a great cup of tea and a favourite movie!! ....actually, spending shed loads of money on a reward comes close as well!! Look after yourself, best regards, Lilly :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 152 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,583 Amount Saved: 760 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 19 Mins: 25 Seconds: 51

How are we all doing? settling into Autumn? looking forward to our 1st smoke free Christmas?? Coming up to 6 months now, who would have thought it, certainly not me...die hard, spit in your eye smoker I was, stuff the health considerations, people are risk takers ....stuff the smell, you don't like it? then keep your distance!!!! How things change...and that's what I love about life, that things DO change, sometimes for good sometimes for bad, but we all get just the one crack at it and it's fascinating to me to see what we do with our choices and chances...like I said, people are risk takers and you never feel more alive than when you put yourself out of the comfort zone to see what will happen next!! Luck to us all, May quitters and SSC group members. Best regards Lilly :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 152 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,573 Amount Saved: 760 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 18 Mins: 22 Seconds: 38

Hey Lilly, I am working on my RN and then I'll be transferring into a Diagnostic Ultrasound or Nuclear Medicine program. I have my first seminar on the 27th. Sign up on the 30th. I don't start all my classes until January though. Wish me luck.
