Feeling down know all the benfits and am determined. Just thought I would feel so happy and in control of my life once I had given up. Looking forward to the post ciggy blues going away.

Hi Michele1 - I was in your shoes yesterday (my day 10). It was a difficult day to get through. Not one minute went by when I wasn't thinking about lighting up, but then I took some deep breaths and realized that the absolute last thing that I want to do again is start the quit all over (we've made it this far, and believe it or not, my day 11 is going so much better:-). After work I went straight to exercise and really pushed myself super hard to get that feeling to go away, and it worked! Hang in there and chew some gum, a straw, your fingernails (just kiding), and take some you time to take control of those cravings......YOU CAN DO IT!

Been there. Its a miserable feeling, but thank goodness it doesn't last. I kept having to remind my self how temporary this really is. Be good to yourself right now and be proud. You are doing a great job. Hang in there. It does get easier. Michele1,you will feel happy and in control of your life, in time, can't put a time frame on this. Work the tools on the left, read a lot of the posts in here, and post often , we will be here for you. Congratulations on 10 days smoke-free this is quite an achievement, reward yourself to bring back the smile in your heart, the more you take care of yourself the more the blues are going to dissipate. This is all normal and it does get better. Hi michele1 - It's a tough journey, the Quit journey, especially at the beginning... Be kind and gentle with yourself and I invite you to let go of all expectations of the way you think things should be right now, so that you can lean into the ways things actually are... Ride the tough times like a wave... Lean in and hold on tight, when the waves come. And if you haven't - do the program on the left... Spend as much time as possible here - go back and read old posts, as there is so much amazing and powerful info here that will support you and keep you grounded in your Quit. Stay in the moment right now... Nurture yourself... You are doing great! Stay close and post often, friend.
