I HAD A DREAM...

18 years ago 0 1127 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Dreaming about smoking is not bad at all. It means that your mind is recovering from smoking. If you have a problem during days (not just about smoking but every other problem too) you can dream it away at night. It's a good sign that you deal with problems. I have had two since I quit. And I woke up thinking I blew it. What an aweful feeling. Turn the nightmare into something positive and remember how you felt bad when you thought you smoked next time a craving hits. gah! I had a smoking dream last night. I dreamed hubby smoked and then I unconsiously grabbed a smoke out of his pack and smoked it. Then I was like oh my I just smoked and didn't even realize it and told him that he had to smoke elsewhere. I can't stand these dreams. But thank goodness IT WAS a dream ... more like a nightmare. Repost from another topic I posted in: I dreamt I had smoked a whole pack and then I felt so guilty for doing it. It was so very real too! I smelled the cig smoke in my dreams and I could actually taste them! It scared me b/c I thought I was smoking again. I woke up w/ a racing heartbeat and realized it was only a nightmare! ACK! I decided tonight I will not sleep w/ the patch on. Oh yes curvyq, It is quite common to have smoking dreams after you quit. I can remember the last one that I had. I slowly wake up and have to think and question myself.."did you smoke last night?" I am always sooooo relieved when I realize it was just a dream. I have even had the smoking dream and woke in the morning with a smokers sore throat for 20 minutes or so! Remember that sore throat from smoking too much the night before? the smoking dreams are pretty common. You had one at 161 days! But, horray, it is just a dream and we are SMOKE FREE. Congratulations on 5 + months; an awesome stat! CURVYQ, are you on the patch? Patches sometimes cause vivid, strange dreams. But regardless of whether you are or not, it's only a dream and nothing to get upset about. Maybe its your brain's way of processing quitting. Congratulations on 161 smoke-free days, Curvyq. These dreams can happen once in awhile. Try easing into sleep with a hot bath or shower and some light stretching. Relaxation can be of great assistance for everyday use as well! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
