The Patches and smoking-DONT DO IT

20 years ago 0 12 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Do you believe everything you hear on the news? I dont. What a wonderful way for the manufactorers to make more money off of us... " yeah lets tell them its ok to smoke and use the patch... get them even more addictive to higher levels of nicotine, profits will go threw the roof!"

First of all, why would you want to smoke and wear a patch? That doesn't make any sence, or am I missing something. Second, when I wear a patch, it gives me a constant stream of nicotine. A cig. would give you a serge of nicotine. That is what I am trying to get away from. I don't think it would overdoes me because the first patch strenth is the same as about a pack a day, but I smoked two packs, so I'm sure it would be ok, but what a total waste. I don't understand why you would mess with it. I am always going through various discussions and have come across some people who are on the patch and taking the odd puffs and such. Unless i am reading you people wrong please do not smoke while you are on the patch or the patch is on you. It can be very dangerous. You can overdose from nicotine. If and i hope you dont have the urge that you are going to smoke please take the patch OFF. Same applies to any smoke aid that already contains nicotine.I not a doctor but the warnings are there in the phamplet and the pharmasist warned me as well.
why would you want to smoke and wear a patch?
Need ........ more .......... nicotine! I think willsara hit the nail on the head. My Dad would take the Nicorette gum out and set it on the edge of the ashtray as he smoked a cig, then pop it back in when he was done. Never could figure out why he bothered with the gum. Members, If you are on the patch, then it is not wise to smoke through it. Talk to your doctor and pharmacist regarding the side effects of this and they can also come up with a plan for you to keep quit. Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
