All quiet on the homefront now, the kids are outside playing and hubby is heading to the office for a few hours. With everyone home on the weekend, I think about smoking more than during the week. I guess I used to go outside and smoke and have a few minutes of quiet and alone time. I kept busy, went for a bike ride, and sat on the beach for about 45 minutes. That beats those smelly old cancer sticks anyday!! Hey Ter - May I join you? I'm a little cranky today too. I picked a fight with my hubby before he left then went to the gym. At the gym, I left my book and towel on the bike while I went to fill up water bottle and got distracted talking to another member. When I got back, some guy had taken my bike and moved my book....saying "Oh...was that your book"...well my cranky self was thinking "Yeah..I bet he thought it was okay just because it was a Quit Smoking book....why didn't he take one of the other bikes that didn't have a book on it...etc etc" I really did a good job of getting myself quite royally pissed! I think I may be experiencing some mild withdrawal from stepping down in patch strength...so I seem to be taking it out on everybody else. Right now, it's just me and the cats and it's tough to pick a fight with a cat so I think I'll be okay. Take care.... It's a book about the easy way to quit smoking...I'm about 1/2 through....it basically goes through all the reasons we think that we need to smoke and looks at why they are irrational. In short, smoking a cigarette reduces our withdrawal symptoms (thus we feel better). However, if we never smoked in the first place, we would not have withdrawal symptoms. Because we feel better when we feed our nicodemon, we start to believe that smoking helps us deal with stress, smoking helps us when we are bored, smoking helps us when we are anxious, depressed, etc when in reality all smoking did was feed the addiction. It's a pretty good book....I can give the name to you over Instant Messenger sometime. And thank you Danielle, I think I need a reward. I'm planning one for tomorrow... I just haven't decided for sure what it is going to be. Ter & Windy, Do something special for yourselves today. Maybe it will make you feel better? A long bath perhaps? Don't be too hard on yourselves. Who's full of smiles and sunshine all the time? Come to back to vent if you need to. KTQ Danielle _______________________ The SSC Support Team
