Suffering in OZ

Andrew: Day three for me was absolutely the hardest. Tomorrow will be much easier. Just remember to not concern yourself with not smoking for the next month, week or even tomorrow. Concentrate on not smoking from the time you wakeup until you go to sleep. One day at a time. Hang in there just today. You can do it. Navigator.

Hi Andrew, stick with it. I have always found day 3 SO TOUGH! I think it could be because that is the last day that the nicotine is in your body, so it starts to go into panic mode. Drink water, take deep breaths, and get through it. IT WILL GET BETTER!! I promise, when it gets really bad, POST! It does help and we will be there for you when you need it. Congratulations on your quit. Oh dear Andrew, It requires willpower to quit (even Zyban) believe me I still get cravings and I still get tough days. You have to really want to do it. SO you had a few pressurised phone calls, did a cigarette REALLY make you feel better? Nope.. it wont because its just a temporaray thing, your body is ALWAYS craving nicotine, which is probably why you tried to quit. I presume you did not prepare and do the workbook located to the left. This will make you think about WHEN you are going to fail, or likely to, BEFORE you do... and therefore you can prepare for it. I failed loads of times, and had to start again, and again and again... But honestly I got sick and tired of going back to day 1 over and over again.

Andrew I know how hard it is. Have smoked 26 years 30-45 a day I have tried giving up before about 7-8 times during these 26 years-I have learnt why i relapse-but now im not letting in. I crave so much at times so i even have looked for butts left behind by strangers :( etc etc I have never made it past 3 months--DO NOT LET THAT discourage you.. Just think--YES this is a VERY hard addiction to quit.. However, i have never been in a support group either. ann My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/6/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 14 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 620 Amount Saved: $222.6 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 6 Mins: 34 Seconds: 0

Andrew50...> NO ITS NO Support GROUP AT ALL LIKE THIS ONE IN AUSTRALIA!!! We only have that quitline and Australian cancer fund-both that just send out pamphlets and quitline who has 25hr telephone service--and most of the time when calling its people with no experience of drug addiction or people who have NEVER smoked that answers!! Also, people Do not always want to call hot lines like that!! Yes I agree with the time difference-however there are always people on line as we are from all over..
