Reason to quit now

Don'tlikecold, That's great to hear! Use this proof that quitting really was a good decision to strengthen your resolve to stay quit! Danielle ____________________________ The SSC Support Team

Just another reason I am so glad I quit when I did. I was recently diagnosed with a medical condition that is permanent and non-smoking related but if I was smoking, I would have to quit now. Smoking would severely impact the condition I have now. I thought about how difficult it would be to try to deal with the stress of this condition and quit smoking at the same time, and I feel so grateful I already quit. It was a great feeling to answer the specialist when he asked if I was a smoker, "No, I quit 8 months ago." And his nod of approval that we wouldn't have that to cope with. Thank you so much for the encouragement! You're right...it's things like this that just increase my resolve to never go back to smoking. Not smoking gives my body the strength to help itself too. I had forgotten how ashamed I used to feel when a doctor would ask me if I smoked. Even if it was a broken toe or something, I would feel as if smoking had something to do with it. What a relief to say no, I quit... Susan, that is so true! I have several medical conditions, some of which greatly improved after I quit. I had some surgery last week, and the doctor said my healing will proceed much quicker now. My first few days after surgery I was on painkillers...no worries about smoking in bed! Take great joy in what you are doing. I have a fair quitting record below and yet I still find added benefits from having stopped everyday. You will continue to do so too.
