Hi, Michelle. The best people to talk about meds with are your doctor and pharmacist. They are the experts. While all SSRIs affect serotonin reuptake, they are all slightly different chemcials with slightly different secondary properties and side-effect profiles. Different people seem to prefer SSRIs and a drug that seems to work best for one person may not work best for another. All drugs have some side effetcs. Your doctor and pharmacist are the best people to help you figure out what drug and dose works best for you and what drug gives you the best benefit with the least or most managable side effects.
Hello
Where can i find better information about meds?
I looked up Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, Wellbutrin, Celexa, they all say they are serotonin reuptake inhibitors. If they do the same thing why do they effect us differently?
How do i know if i need to switch? My meds (Prozac 10mg) make me feel better a few hours at the end of the day. Some days I feel terrible, some I feel good. A lot of people say that Prozac is a harsh drug? I tried Zoloft and one dose made me very ill. How do i sort through them?
I am new to all of this.
Michelle
