18 years ago 0 589 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Well last night i had a smoking dream. I've only had one of those so far and felt so guilty when i woke up that i thought i had smoked. In the dream last night I felt guilty after the first one but continued to smoke. This morning I woke up looking for my smokes....been a long time since i've done that. Hope this feeling will pass soon, I don't want to smoke again but that junkie must be thinking he can get me... Oh yes those dreams Early in my quit I had the most horrible dream Ihave ever had and I can still remember it vividly. They are now getting better but I still get the odd dream about smoking but not nearly so bad. The worst one was when I tried the 24 hour patches... Hi Sillyme, Don't worry about those smoking dreams. You don't get those dreams for nothing, you dream with a reason. I'll try to explane this in English and I hope you understand what I mean. Sometimes people cannot solves some problems which are on their mind during days. If that happens the person starts to dream about the issue at night. That is some kind of way to deal with things on the mind. The dreaming is a way from your mind that tells you that your body is healing or better said recovering from the smoking. In fact, those dreams help you to get over the smoking. I hope this makes sense....lol. Hello Sillyme, I personally never had any smoking dreams. However, I do get very vivid dreams. But there is no smoking in them! I'm glad it was only a dream for you. Are you doing okay now? That junkie will try anything!! Take extra care of yourself today. ;) 4my2girls What Consumes Your Thoughts Controls Your Life My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 219 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,585 Amount Saved: $716.13 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 15 Mins: 55 Seconds: 2

Hi Sillyme - You're strong, powerful and focused, friend... Don't give your dream any power; it's just part of the process. You're doing great! Let it go :) Healer My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 219 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,691 Amount Saved: $1018.35 Life Gained: Days: 28 Hrs: 11 Mins: 59 Seconds: 20

I had the dreams too, but I kind of liked them :) Specially the ones where I smoked and then woke up and realized it was just a dream. The relief from that realization always made me smile and made me stronger in my quit. I believe we have the dreams because when we stop smoking our mind is busy all the time with the "non smoking" issue, for a long time that is almost everything we think about. yeah I have those dreams too, but I'm not smoking only opening my freezer where I always hid a pack, but instead of one pack I open the freezer and it starts spitting out thousands of packs of every brand I use to smoke. It's kind of funny really and always wakes me up. I have to get up out of bed and look in my freezer. Low and behold only normal things in there now, OOOhh. Yeah, a little midnight ice cream... I have got to believe it's part of the journey and it will go away. Hang in there Nalu... Silly, This is normal and will pass. Many members advised of different dreams and how vivid they were. Take the time to relax before bed with a book, bath, or long walk and ease yourself into sleep, this may help :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
