I don't know about everyone, but quite afew of us go through depression at certain times throughout our quits. The physical & emotional symptoms that you decribed are EXACTLY how I feel when I am depressed. I think it's normal to feel depressed when we are giving up something that we have become so dependent on and on day 11, we haven't experienced all of the excitement that comes with not smoking. It was such a relief when I actually woke up one day feeling happy. I agree that the Doctor is the best person to see if these feelings/symptoms don't go away. However, you WILL have energy, you WILL have fun and you WILL HAVE FREEDOM AND GOOD HEALTH! Just wanted you to know that you aren't alone and that we'll be thinking of you while you go through this rough patch on the trip. Hi FreeBird!! I have those every now and then too =) It could be a tummy bug or perhaps one of your withdrawal symptoms. If it doesnt clear up, see your doc like you mentioned =) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/21/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 14 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 145 Amount Saved: $28 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 6 Mins: 49 Seconds: 24

Hey Freebird- You and I had the same kind of day yesterday. I also went to bed at about six and slept off and on until this morning...and I am feeling much better also. Every once in awhile I really need that extra rest for some reason. It's times like that, if I don't rest, that I crave the most... Glad you pulled through and everything looks better in the morning light! Have a wonderful weekend! Freebird, Well, some members refer to the third week as blah week and you're just about there. In any case, just be kind to yourself. Try to keep finding things that may lift your mood. Break up those monotonous tasks into smaller components and allow for mini-breaks in between each one. Consultation with your doctor is a good idea if you continue to experience nausea. Better be safe than sorry. Feel better soon. Danielle ____________________________ The SSC Support Team

Thanks for all the replies everyone. Last night after dinner told the wife how I felt and climbed in bed about 6:30pm. Stayed there until 5:30am to get up for work and feel 100 percent better than yesterday. Didn't sleep the whole time, just felt good to lay there do nothing and not worry about anything. Driving in the work rolled the window down and felt good driving in breathing fresh autumn air. It's mornings like these that help me keep the quit. Between not sleeping good last night, and working today. Feel like I am in a total fog. Not sure what is happening, but today don't feel like working, don't feel like eating lunch. Went out to get a salad, when I went by the place I normally go, felt like my stomach wanted to turn. So didn't eat at all. Coffee, water and pop tried to drench my thirst but even those tasted like crap. Best thing though, even when I thought a about a smoke, I felt like I wanted to puke. Guess that one is a good thing. Feels like a blah kind of mood. I know some people go through depression when going through a quit, just wondering if this is a start of it or just a phase I am going through. I know if it lasts through the weekend, I am calling my doc for a checkup. At any rate, this stinks. One think helping is all the posts from the long time quitters on here, on their struggles and success stories through the beginning phase and making it a lifetime of change. Thanks for the posts you share with all us newbies. Hi Freebird - You're doing beautifully, friend... It can be tough at first... Just take gentle and loving care of yourself right now, and sometimes that means deciding what you need in a moment's notice! Take some time to gentle the energy around you - make a list of 100 things you love and surround yourself with them... rewards as SOOOO important right now for you - so make a list of rewards (?) Gentle, soothing bubble baths, candles, walks on a cool night, a call to a good friend to just connect, fresh cut flowers close by, a good movie... Rewards can be big and small... what's important is that they have meaning to YOU, dear one... One step at a time... for sleep - look into melatonin (all natural) and make sure, always - to read labels. melatonin helps many of my clients and it also has helped many here who needed some good sleep... Take good care and keep reading old posts here... tons of info that will support and ground you...
