Hi Jess
This must be a very difficult time for you. You will meet much wiser and more experiened quitter than me. However, I DO remember what hell week was like. To be honest, the only way most of us make it through those first few days is to go one baby step at a time. We do only what we have to and leave the rest.
This is the time to take care of yourself. Distract yourself in whatever way possible: (someone suggested household chores to me - but that was definately no MY first choice of distractions) You need to do whatever works for you; a walk, chatting with a friend, posting on SCC, posting again and again, reading a book, having a cup of tea, watching t.v. - whatever works. I spent alot of those days curled up under the covers.
Over the days, I have also taken the opportunity to read the information offered by this site and especially to read the post of others. You will meet many others who feel exactly as you do and you will meet many who have gone through this and are thriving with their freedom from cigarettes.
All I can say is one day at a time, one step at a time, sometimes one minute at a time....You can do it....and we will be here to support you!
Take care
Windy
