Living in an underserviced area can be trying. In some areas specialists will ceomt to visit once a month. You still need to keep looking. There may be a psychologist in your area, or some GPs who may do counselling. Some places to call: -Your old Dr. Ask him to refer you to someone. -The nearest mental health center. Make sure they know you live in an underserviced area and are looking for help. -Your local politician (to alert him/her to the problem and to the need) -The College of Physicians and Surgeons or the governing body for Drs. They may have suggestions. -Speak with pharmacists. They are in contact with doctors and may be able to recommend someone you didn't know existed. Lastly, you may have to travel to see someone. Is it doable to go see your former doctor? -- Anne-Marie, Site Administrator

That is another problem. I cant see another doctor in my town because the doctor i was going to was the only one. (shrink)I mean. I tried clinics and even been to the er for panic But they try to give me paxil or zoloft for my disorder but it doesnt do me any good. Im one of those people who have all the side effects from anti depresants besides, i only use them for when i get all worked up and have an attack. The doctors hear dont understand my situation. any other ideas?

Well first things first.....you need to find another Doctor. Tomorrow morning call community clinics, or your old doctor€™s office. Ask if there are Doctors accepting new patients, or if a Doctor has taken over your old Doctors practice? This should be a priority especially if you are having so many panic attacks. Please keep in touch and let us know your progress with this matter. Take Care, Melanie

Hi. If your doctor moved away, you need to find another doctor who will take you inder his/her care. (Calling someone else up to ask for a prescription renewal will not get good results usually, if that is what you've been doing. Things don't work that way.) Sorry to read of your difficulties, but you need a new doctor. Your new doctor may choose to change your meds, but that is something you would have to discuss with him. All the best. -- Anne-Marie, Site Administrator

I wanna know what the hell im suppose to do when no doctor will refill my meds. I was going to a doctor hear in town but he moved away to practice in a bigger city and Now nobody will refill my medication. The pills i take are addictive but what am i suppose to do if i need them? The doctors say i could be dependant on them and could cause problems. I ONLY TAKE THEM WHEN I HAVE A PANIC ATTACK WHY WONT ANYONE HELP ME? THIS IS JUST MORE STRESS FOR ME TO DEAL WITH. i CANT GO ANYWHERE BECAUSE IM SCARED I WILL HAVE ANOTHER EPISODE AND I WONT HAVE ANY MEDS TO MAKE ME FEEL BETTER WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO DO NOW? IM HOME BOUND. :8o:
