Hi Lovestofish,
Like you I enjoy a drink with friends who may or may not smoke. I'm finding these days that the smell of smoke makes me convinced that I will never smoke again. And having a few beers puts me in a good mood, but certainly doesn't put me in the mood to smoke.
It's all to do with breaking associations. For instance, there are people on the site who have stopped drinking coffee because, to them coffee and smoking go hand in hand, and they fear that they will lapse. (I recently said to Mrs Ed that since I associated being with her and my smoking cigs, that she'd have to go as well :p )
We all have to be cautious and on our guard during our quit; it's just a shame to have give up some of the good things in life when quitting this awful addiction
take care
Mr Ed :)
