Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Jan - I am so glad to hear from you...and so glad you will be back with your meter on Monday. This will be an unusual Thanksgiving for me. I am only one in my family who still smokes and I get ALOT of static. I also come from a family that is a tad too success focussed. For my own reasons, I decided that I was not going to share my quit with them. I know we are supposed to advertise but personally I did not want advice from people who had no idea how hard it is to quit. I knew that there is always the possibility of relapse/slips and I knew that if that happened (or if that happens) I won't need any extra help kicking myself when I'm down. I am a tad bit stressed about this big family event....I really don't want to hear comments like "you will be an idiot if you start back now" or "i did it my first try". On the other hand, it could all turn out very well. Guess there's not much sense worrying about what "might" happen. After all, it's only one day...and as Marie says "one day at a time". Geeeeeeeesh...this doesn't sound like a Happy Thanksgiving thread! It's starting to sound like my old whiney thread.......... <----Windy slaps herself in forehead and yells "Happy Thanksgiving all!!" Just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadian quit buddies. I will be away 'til Monday. Enjoy all that turkey, and more importantly, enjoy your weekend. I have a lot of soul searching to do this weekend. I'm really having trouble staying quit. S..T..R..E..S..S!!!!! I know that's no excuse. I will reset my meter and I will be back on Monday. I will NEVER give up. And with all the great support here, I will be just fine. I will be soooo glad to be back here on Monday!. Jan

Gobble Gobble! Thanks so much for the Thanksgiving wishes guys. I'm certainly thankful for a lot of things this year! I'm thankful for all the love and suppport I've received during my quit. I'm thankful for clean lungs, nice smelling hair and clear skin. I'm thankful for the extra cash I have to buy christmas presents with this year. I'm especially thankful for the extra time I'll get to live with my lovely husband...have a great weekend guys and keep up the great work! ps Windy - dont stress. You are doing something really wonderful for yourself in the best way you know how. Let them talk, advise or whatever. What matters at the end of the day is what you think. And you are working really hard, one day at a time. Thats enough. Take pride and celebrate! Jan: I know what you mean. It have been in the process of quitting for five months now and it is very frustrating when you slip/relapse, when you truly do want to give the darn things up! I feel like---no---I have been, in withdrawels the whole time. It's my fault, because I kept slipping. But I intend to keep it up until I do it...I'm glad you plan to keep on trying too! :) Have a good weekend and we will see you on Monday! So, I am to assume that this is your Canadian Thanksgiving? HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
