Nicotine is a pesticide.
Men who smoke have sex an average of 6 times a month and rate it as 5 on a scale of 1-10. Compare this to nonsmokers, who have a 9 sex twice as often. This one is why my husband never started. LOL! Of course, he never rode a bicycle either - because he heard it could cause impotence.
Smokers are 7 times more likely to be completely impotent, according to the Mass. Male Aging Study. Half of the men between the ages of 40 and 70 report some type of sexual dysfunction. Increased blood flow to the penis in nightly erections is needed for men to remain sexually healthy, and in studies of smokers these nightly erections were almost non-existent. Don't count on Viagra, as it is not as effective in smokers says Dr. Cully, Chairman of the Urology Dept. at the University of N.C. I learned this before my ruptured disc surgery last year at the age of 35...smoking dehydrates your discs, making them more susceptible to rupture. I've had a hell of a time since my surgery, and have permanent nerve damage in my leg and foot. I didn't quit though until this year. The longer you smoke the more scared the ends of the bronchial tubes become and the more difficult it is to exchange oxygen as this area is more brittle and less supple, as well the scarring is less likely to fully heal exponentially in relation to the amount of time smoking has occured. Sooner quit the better. 1. Lung cancer, which is almost entirely caused by cigarette smoking, is responsible for more deaths among women than breast cancer. 2. As many as one-half of long-term smokers will die of causes related to tobacco. 3. Most teenagers who smoke daily do not expect to continue smoking, but most are still smoking 5 years later. 4. Women who smoke are more likely to have smaller, sicker babies, be infertile, and have more miscarriages. 5. Tobacco companies have known about the destructive health effects of tobacco and the addictive power of nicotine for at least 40 years. 6. Cigarette smoking is the leading preventable cause of death in the United States. 7. Light cigarettes have the same ingredients as regular cigarettes, including lead, ammonia, benzene, DDT, butane gas, carbon monoxide, arsenic, and polonium 210. And the good news~ 8. More than 50 million Americans have quit smoking. Smoking and even exposure to smoke can irritate the lining of the voice box which reduces the quality of the voice, and increases the risk of reflux laryngitis and the need to clear the throat. Smoking also reduces ability to use full voice volume as it can reduce lung function. Heavy smokers often develop swollen vocal cords. MissyFit, Fact: Nicotine attaches to the receiving end of nerve cells in the brain, to the receptor sites. The nicotine damages the receptor sites and interferes with the sending/receiving signals in the brain. The damaged receptors cannot receive signals well unless nicotine is present. Hence, smokers "need" a fix to add nicotine to their neurons' receptor sites so their nerves will work again. One of the major symptoms of nicotine withdrawal is a temporary garbled thought process. It takes time without nicotine in the system for the receptor sites to heal and allow the normal thought process to return to normal. Be Strong. Be Smart.
