Does a drunken cig count???

18 years ago 0 97 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
14 months ago that drink I had at a BBQ gave me the cocky attitude that I could have "just one cigarette" and now I'm up to 20+ cigarettes a day....after having been smoke free for 2 1/2 years. That's about 898 days of being smoke free destroyed...tossed away like nothing...all because of a beer that made me a bit cocky. So for me a drunken cig was my down fall... :( My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: -19 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Ummm yeah, so: TGI Friday - but if you're heading out for drinks with your work mates to celebrate the weekend have you thought about your coping mechanisms? The best one is probably not to go if you're early in your quit and have a big alcohol/smoking association. Some people are lucky enough to be able to drink and have no increased smoking urges BUT considering the trouble people get into after a few drinks lowers their inhibitions, the safest alcohol level in the begining is probably zero for most of us. I don't know how many quits in my lifetime have ended the first Friday in the pub - it gets easy to justify and even think you'll make it just a Friday after work thing and not smoke during the week. Yeah right! So, just want to wish everyone well over the weekend. If you're heading out on the town keep your dukes up against the cigs!! Here's looking forward to a Sunday morning Stats Parade!!!!! Mmmmm. Very true chick. To this day I only feel safe going out drinking with my non-smoking friends, which are growing in number at a great rate. YAY. I'm a tiny bit apprehensive about a big party I'm going to next weekend. But by then I'll be 2 months quit and hopefully stronger than ever. Cheers alison :) Kick the Herb to the Kerb My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 52 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,564 Amount Saved: $650 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 9 Mins: 21 Seconds: 59
