Gonnadoit, Just like you, my husband's quit came fairly easy to him. We both quit at the same time nearly two years ago, the only thing was, his quit lasted. I felt very jealous of his success, and very upset at my own. Since then, I've probably tried to quit 15 times, each with a very limited outcome. Well my quit date is Mon. Sept. 11 and I really want to be able to celebrate my success. I feel prepared, basically know what to expect, and will take each day a moment at a time. KTQ

Gonnadoit I don't think it just happens like that, just stop at the store and smoke, it was in your mind all along for sure. I'm hearing resentment towards your husband, why because it's easier for him, well remember this : statistics show that it's easier for men to quit than women, that we have to accept, can't change it, accept it. I think that if we're truthful with ourselves, we know exactly how relapse happens, not in a second just like that, you have to think about it and then physically do the deed , buy , take out the money to pay and open the pack and take a sickarette out of it and buy a lighter and light that thing, this takes more than a second. It's a concious act, once this is established, you're armed for the next step in your commitment to quit smoking. I'm rambling here, I don't want to sound tough because I'm not, I don't judge, I don't know what's waiting for me around the corner. All I know is you have to be committed to the quit and true to yourself. Now get back to square one and do it for yourself. Sincerely Marie

Gonnadoit hi ,please think about what made you do it, so next time you'll be able to deal with it, and you'll have your coping mechanisms in place. I applaud you for starting over, you'll get it done I'M sure of it. Sincerely Marie

Gonnadoit, I'm so happy you're back, and we are nicoholics, I'm off the patch and I am absolutely fine, I have been busy all weekend with a garage sale, decluttering the basement, everything is gone sold, no more junk. Hope you're having a nice smoke-free trip with mom and daughter, keep on quitting ONE DAY AT A TIME (this one's for you) Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 89 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,349 Amount Saved: $356 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 20 Mins: 46 Seconds: 27

Glad to hear you are doing well, Marie! Back from my trip, smoke free. I took my toolbox along. Buried under hard candy, gum and prayers, I keep duct tape and a hammer in my toolbox! :eg: Just in case my nagging mother got to be too much! :gasp: Wellbutrin just may have saved her life! :)
