Another day as a non smoker

18 years ago 0 23 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I've been reading a lot of these posts lately, and it definitely keeps it green for me. I am a non smoker again, as of 4 days ago, and it'd amazing what a hold nicotine has on so many people. I know I'm not alone, and never thought I was, but never looked for a support group when I wanted to quit. I always have decided to quit for my family, for my wife, for my job, etc...., but never really for myself. I figured that NO ONE is going to tell me what I can and cannot do, so I'll quit when I'm damn good and ready. Well, let me tell you, I'm damn good and ready. Smoking has done no good in my life, in fact, just the opposite has occurred. I am tired of lying to people, I'm tired of smelling bad and trying everything to cover it up, and actually believing that I have. I'm tired of buying a pack, having only one or two, and deciding that I quit again, and throwing the rest out the window. I'm just plain tired of the turmoil it has caused in my life for many years, and I know the turmoil will continue until smoking takes my life, unless I stop. I DO have a choice to pick up or not, and TODAY I choose not to.
