Well officialy this is day one for me. I started yesterday but got slamed by my dinner\hubby time craving. I guess I took it for granted. Then today, Well where do I start, First I locked myself and kids out of house.(no concentration)My 4yr old is going nuts. Thank heaven for good neihbors. My little one is teething ang just miserable. The 4yr old decides that today is the day to make everything hard. Well thankfully I came on here to sort out some of my feelings, and to help me with my strongest cravings of day. (I think that was a mistake of mine yesterday not coming on here. Well I made it threw dinner and my kid yelling at me. My hubby decides to walk into our house w/his cig. As if I was not about to sream anyway. Then he trys to put son to bed 1hr early. So of corse kid is sreaming. Like Alighting bolt anger, rage comes out of nowhere. I got my son and sat with him just rocking for a min, I knew that would come me down. Boy I hope I haven't messed up by doing this cold turky, ah phewy Turkey or not I am so ready to be free. There is christen song that I always have like....Title is I am free. It actully says I am free to run, I am free to dance, And I am free to live and do. Christen song or not that is what I want. Simply to be free. The post on here give me hope and curage. Thanks to all who have gone before me. I know I can to be free My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

I've found that my biggest trigger is sitting in the house, too. My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 29 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,163 Amount Saved: $214.6 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 21 Mins: 51 Seconds: 54

Hurstke - your husband is a saint. I love hearing stories like that. When I got pregnant, my husband was a vegetarian and had been since he was 13 years old. I used to eat mostly vegitarian with him, and then I wasn't getting enough protien in my diet and got sick, and you know... he started eating meat with me. Some of them aren't so supportive though.. I dunno anything about Grace's husband and i'm not jumping to conclusions about him at all, but what she said reminded me of my ex-husband. I quit one time while married to him and he came walking into the hosue with a ciggie too. Thing is.. he never came walking into the house with a ciggie.. he did it on purpose. Anyhow, Grace.. i think you're doing wonderfully. I don't know anything about your siuation, but most of the time, our families freek out when we change, and please please don't let that get in your way. YOU are worth this! A bottle of icey cold water gives me that "ahhhhh" feeling that I used to get when I smoked while stressed. Golly...You are doing WONDERFUL!!! Time to have a heart-to-heart with hubby on how he can make it easier on you. I would atleast make the ground rule of no smoking in the house!!! My husband and I quit together...bless his heart...he quit because of MY health. Our BIGGEST mistake was smoking in the house. That has been the hardest trigger/crave for the both of us. I was a 34 year smoker at 3 packs a day. Hubby smoked considerably less. It is HARD to quit smoking, and even harder without support. That is why the SSC is here! Post often and READ!!! Ask your hubby to read up as well. Perhaps he may join you in the quit, or, at the very least, be more respectful and sympathetic of your quit! God bless!!!

Deep breaths - relax - concentrate on being calm.... All so easy to say until the kids start screaming and the hubby acts like a dolt... The things you are going through will always be there. Life doesn't care if you smoke or not, it will still throw this kind of stuff at you. It's up to you to find a way to deal WITHOUT cigarettes being in the equation. Sounds like you're working on it - good luck and keep up the good work! Grace, Kudos for getting through the day! Go to bed early and start fresh in the morning. Take time to yourself and pamper you! This can be a reward or just a break away. Make a list of activities, hobbies and chores to keep you and your family busy, put the fun in it and don't look back :) We are always here for you , so post often and let us guide you :) Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
