That sounds like fun ... wish I could come! The harder we work at our quits ... the harder it is to give in to the junkie lies. Enjoy yourself this weekend. You are not going to smoke. Cigarettes Not Smoked

This weekend is our Community Clubs annual Salute To Summer carnival and soccer tournament. I always volunteer and help organize, its lots of fun - the whole neighbourhood comes out and has a great time. We have beer gardens and a band, bbq, bouncers for the kids etc..... This year I'm in charge of the volunteers so I need to be there all weekend. I have my patches, lots of gum and WILL NOT BE DRINKING! All of that said, I'm not looking forward to being around all of the smokers (and there are LOTS). I was at a meeting tonight and the smoke got into my throat and made me feel sick. I'm not going to smoke, but at the same time I know there will be lots of temptation. And part of me is just plain resentful that I cant just be looking forward to this weekend like I usually do. It will be so wonderful when the day comes that I no longer think about smoking. That day will come won't it? Ok, I'm rambling. Wish me luck this weekend - I will be doing lots of deep breathing, getting through every craving. Have a good one everyone, and A special hello to you Lady if you are reading this. Cheers, Janet My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 119 Amount Saved: $49.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 21 Mins: 2 Seconds: 5

Here is some balloons for the celebration. You can do this one breath at a time. Hi, Janet. The day will come. All you have to do is stay quit. It sounds like you've got the weekend planned well. Sounds like it will be outdoors. I bet the meeting tonite was indoors. At least outdoors you have a chance of being upwind from a smoker and the smoke has a chance to dissipate. Just keep fixing in your mind that you will not smoke through the weekend. Visualize doing your job there in the midst of smokers and not being tempted. During the weekend, if you think you're approaching a point of temptation, then expect (not worry, expect) to get broadsided by a crave. Brace and be ready for it. Bet if it does come, it ends up wimpy. You'll do fine, Janet. Keep up the good quit. And congratulations on 9 smoke-free days. Awesome accomplishment. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 395 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,919 Amount Saved: $1501 Life Gained: Days: 73 Hrs: 19 Mins: 41 Seconds: 30

Hi Skidoo, When you look at the smokers, pity them. They are still killing themselves and would love to be where you are with 9 smokefree days. :) Have a great time. Not cravin', never cavin'. You will be fine Janet. Maintain your discipline and determination which prevents you lighting up and go and enjoy your special weekend; you will feel even better when you come out the other end without smoking! Good Luck Penitent d767

Skidoo, You can do this! Was it really that much fun missing some of the day to smoke every half hour? You will have a great time and see the weekend like you have never seen it before! You have your coping mechanisms and you will do the right thing :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
