two day before the quit

Sparky - I think you read the wrong "Quit Workbook". A colonoscopy is not a very good reward. How bout a new pair of boots instead or a bubble bath or candles???? Having said that, it's a very good idea...saved my father's life over 5 years ago. Hurry up and quit though, with all this extra food I'm eating....that cheerleading outfit it getting kinda snug! Marie - would you bake an extra cake so the rest of us can have some too? See ya Monday! Hey Sparky! I just went out and bought my cute little cheerleading suit and my pom poms! I'm all set for Monday! Anything else we can bring? Dang Sparky - too bad we have to wait for six month's. Our older cat, George, would REALLY love to give the kitten to you right now. He keeps asking us to open the door to the balconey when he doesn't want to go out....I think he just keeps hoping that dang kitten will just keep running right off the balconey! She only has two speeds - play and sleep and, unfortunately, George is her favourite toy! Anyway, we are falling in love with her and she IS a great reward. Makes us laugh every day! 2 more sleeps till the BIG DAY! WAY TO GO SPARKY! Good to hear from you! I too believe every quit prepares us for the final one. And as Healer mentioned, no reason why this time can't be THE time. Sparky, You sound all prepared and ready to go! To try increasing your patience, try counting to three before reacting or speaking. It gives you a pause to think before doing or speaking. Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team

Well it is two day to go for the big day. I am looking forward to being smoke free and smelling so good again. I have my patches in place and a mentor and projects to help distract me. I know the routine breathe in breathe out lots of water- ask for help. But what I want to learn this time is patience. I understand the rewards of not smoking are more important than a few moments of be uncomfortable. Windy, I had set my six months reward as something new for the house, but I want to change that. My husband said I could get a kitten :p So on Monday I will start the day smoke free. Cannot wait to be back as a non-smoker :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: -2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

As the time draws near I am getting so excited. I know what is in store for me, but I know I can do this with your help and God's. Not to gross anyone out this will be day Monday. I will put on a patch and get ready to have my first colonascopy. So tomorrow I get nothing to eat - NOTHING!!!! I can drink clear liquids and have some jello, yuck. So, Marie I will be glad to have that cake - the whole cake. Sure hope it is chocolate. Windy cheerleader outfit, wow!! Rusty hope you have that towel ready. All of you thanks for making coming back easy. There is a lot of shame that comes with going back to smoking and thinking you are leaving such good friends. I welcome you back into my life with my whole heart and soul. Everyone of you are so special. Until Monday :) Sharon My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: -1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Sparky, As RD Man has just said - "But what I want to learn this time is patience. I understand the rewards of not smoking are more important than a few moments of be uncomfortable." You have just hit the nail on the head in a massive way. Substitute the words 'months' for 'moments' and you have the very essence of a successful quit! Thanks Sparky Mr Ed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 242 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,278 Amount Saved: 1815 Life Gained: Days: 40 Hrs: 10 Mins: 44 Seconds: 42
