Hi all, I'm very upset right now but I'm not going to smoke. I just came back from the doctor and he found a lump in my breast. I have to go to the hospital tomorrow for x-ray and ultrasound. I'm scared to death. The worst part is that my boyfriend lives in Florida and cannot visit me. I'm alone. Hello Dutch! ((((hugs))) for you! We will be here for you, i will most certainly. I know what this feels like to have stress and not have your old smoking friend there. My neighbour had the same thing just over a year ago, she had to have treatment (radiotherapy chemotherapy etc), but is fine and well now, and back to work. You wouldnt know that she had been through it. It might also be a malignant lump. I had one of those when i was 22 and had it removed, they took it out from around the nipple (so no scarring really)... I went under general aenesthetic.. and came home same day I think.. So that is that.. As for the smoking in relation to this. DONT smoke. It WILL Just make it worse. I have to go to hospital for a scan tomorrow, and then go to hospital again next week.. yeah its stressful, because i dont really know what the total outcome will be not until I hava a biopsy. BUT I know for sure that if I was smoking that would a) make treatment more risky. I know as a smoker i said I didnt care about that, and didnt really cared if I died in surgery, as long as I could smoke (its honest, but I know not good). b) I couldnt sit there for very long as I had go somewhere to smoke, so treatment was always awful. I am so sorry to hear that you have this going on fini.. I hope that things will be well, look on the bright side, it could be worse, you could be a smoker and going through this.. ugghh. Hello Dutch Fini, i'm sorry to hear about the lump in your breast. However you need to do a check up and everything will be good after all. Don't get disappointed even if yr boyfriend is far. You have family,friends,people in here who will support you and stand by your side! Be strong..keep away from the demon.It has nothing to offer you!! During all these years that we smoked,it never solved our problems...so,you will still have to go to the doctor tomorrow...so,no need to smoke anyway!! Be well!
