Just quit smoking 4 days ago for the second time! The first time i relapsed after i went through quite a bit of stress and all i can think about is i would feel fine now if i hadn't given up giving up! I feel terrible at the moment and all i want to do is take a long drag! I know if i do though i will be back at square 1 and all the pain i have had to go through so far will be for nothing! I know from last time that 1 drag and i will be hooked again and i dont want to be a smoker i hate it! I know i can do this! Hello JJ You are not alone. I too want to take a lonnnnnnnnng drag of that cig; but i don't want to start over again with the DT's (withdrawls) so I find myself avoiding places where i can purchase them. I hold on by writing, expressing myself, talking to myself, now walking. It's so sad to know that this drug is that powerful where if we just take that one puff we are back where we started. Hold on JJ just hold on... P. Hello JJ and welcome to our quit family. Quit just for today. Do not look at your quit in terms of forever. That is just far too much to grasp at this stage. You quit for today one step at a time, five minutes at a time and tomorrow will take care of itself. We are all addicts here and once I understood the addiction I realized that the quit was much easier. Junkie thinking. One looonnnnggg drag is junkie thinking. Everyday is one day closer to never feeling this way again. Kick, scream, fight, cry, break dishes, whatever it takes, just don't smoke. As long as you don't light that first cigarette, you've got it made. Hell week is Hell but you can do it! Hi JJ, I remember the start of your first quit!!! You did it then and can do it now! Just hang in there....you know the Hell to expect, but try to remember the joys and rewards that come with the quit! Think those positive thoughts and stop dwelling on the what ifs! The life of freedom CAN be yours! WHATEVER IT TAKES, JUST DON'T SMOKE!!! Lolly. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/25/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 588 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 20,603 Amount Saved: 2940 Life Gained: Days: 81 Hrs: 21 Mins: 39 Seconds: 32
