Wow What GOOD stuff. Lady, This was not just for you. Thanks for sharing some of your deepest thoughts. When I first read your post I thought that you might be down. I also thought about all the things that smoking has held me back from. Already on my journey, I am starting to look forward to some of the things I can do. I love what was said about making new goals for yourself. I am sorta like that I do better when I am striving for something. You have been quit over a year. WOW. That is really awsome. Maybe it is time to take a little of that extra money, and take yourself on a small trip. It does not have to be anything elerbrate. You might feel better just to get out of your normal box. This might not be allowed on here but well we will go with the AA princapal. Seek your higher power, talk with him, and pray +meditate. He is always with you and always ready to listen. For me, My maker has been a light in a very dark world. It has been equally helpful to have him through this, as the site has been. Take care of your self lady. There is many people in here who learn and grow from you. Try to love your self as you love others. Lady, I'm so sorry I wasn't here for you. It sounds like you got some amazing advice though! This is a great thread for dealing with all kinds of emotions that the quit often brings out. Lonliness is often the hardest emotion to deal with after quitting. It seems that we used cigarettes as our "friend" whenever we were alone, and for some reason (that reason being addiction) we didn't feel as alone when we smoked. Well guess what?!?! You're not alone! You've got many, many, many people in your life who love and care for you! No matter what else happens in your life, just know that you are never, EVER alone! It's normal to feel scared when change is on the horizon, but change can sometimes be a good thing... and in this case, I think that it is good for you! You're doing some amazing things in your life! You have so much to be proud of! We are all so proud of you! I'm sure you'll do great in this new job and any other task that you take on. You're a winner! Glad to hear you're feeling better. Hope that it stays that way! But even if it doesn't, just know that you are never alone. You have many friends to turn to! Crave the Quit! Lady, You love yourself. You are already loving yourself by not smoking. How else can you fill that void within? I don't want to come across as being someone that has all of the answers because I don't - this is something that i'm learning to do right now myself, and this is why I can relate to how you're feeling. Do you eat a healthy diet? Drink plenty of water? Keep your life organised? Spend time for yourself in meditation or prayer? Do you get your hair done, or buy a new outfit? Once we love ourselves and our lives... we won't need that cigarette to smoke and be our freind. I don't really meen rewarding yourself. I mean LOVING yourself! Something that's there even without an action behind it. Getting up in the monring, looking in the mirror and smiling because you're beautiful and you know it. Feeling worthy of living smoke free, healthy, surounded by people who treat you with respect, and in a job that you love... because you are worth it! Living a stress free life, and dressing up just to go to the park.. Just because. That is how you don't feel alone. That is how you don't focus on the negative. Treet yourself well.. you'll reciprocate.

Ditto to Golferman's post & ditto to what Sparky said about not being able feel negative if we are full of graditude. The same love you give to others ... give to yourself as well. When you feel down, imagine that you are one of your friends or family members ... and treat yourself the same as you would treat them. May peace be upon you Lady. Lady, I do not have much quit time behind me, but I do have life experience. I was raised my a negitive mother. So I grew up that way. It wasn't until I was in recovery for alcholism that I saw it. I have worked a lot on that and have turned it around for the most part. I would suggest that you first tell your self that you are worth while and that you are very special. Do this for a month. Look into the mirror and say it. I did and it really helped me with self esteem. You send such postive post to all of us here on this site and I for that I am grateful. You are more positve than you realize. I had someone tell me when I was only seeing the negtive to stop and write down 10 things you are grateful for. I think, no I know, if you do this you will feel much better. You can not be negitive if you are full of graditude. :) I don't know what is vanishing for you, but you have appeared in my life and others here. Take care and I am sending you my thought and a great big hug!!! Lady....u will come thru this depression very soon, I know you will, underneath no matter what u are a very positive person. this will pass, embrace whatever feelings your having, let yourself feel them, look at them and decide what u can do to change your perspective about them. it begins with a thought - a thought leads to a belief..... Its a journey....it doesnt matter that you''ve been doing this a long time and still feel the way you do today. Your entitled to a few crappy days...its normal & it'll pass. Here for you whenever you need to off load! Hi Lady You reach out and talk to people...whether it be a phone call, this site, in person or whatever... I just wanted you to know you are one of my greatest inspritations on this site and your wisdom has more than once got me thru a rough patch. You are not superwoman! all things come to those who wait and practice what your doing. You will get there, although its a slow and uphill battle some times dont let that negativity get you down. You are one very special human being , helping a lot of people out there & I dont think you realise you'r worth. Wish I could sit down and have a big, fat winge fest with you to make you smile and take away some of your stresses. You can do this, you can do anything u put your mind to! Keep looking for different ways to deal with your emotions, share your thoughts and above all if one thing doesnt work, try something else...eventually you'll find what does. I know exactly how you feel though, your not alone lots of people here feel similar problems..correction challenges! there are no problems. time for a little r&R for you, a tiny treat because u deserve it chat to you soon

Hi Lady...........did you know that there are three kinds of accountant...............those that can count............and those that can't. You are not allowed to be down! You are a success at the hardest thing in the world.........stopping smoking. You are also fantastic at supporting and cheering other people up. And if you don't cheer up, I will send you terrible jokes until you cry........."NO MORE!!!!" :8o: I will also perm all your feathers and you will look like one of those woolly balls on the top of a pom-pom hat! ;p Mad Englishman My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/8/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 246 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,724 Amount Saved: 1230 Life Gained: Days: 41 Hrs: 1 Mins: 37 Seconds: 8

Grace, I'm glad you got something out of this. Rambling in my way of working through some issues. Being quit over a year is an awesome feeling. Don't let this post mislead you. I wouldn't trade the experience of this past year for anything in the world. I supose we just all have our days. My "higher power" is always with me. You are right. I am never alone. Thanks for the reminder.
