hi, Sounds like you have alot of things going on and they where there for a long time but you just are much more aware now because you do not have a cig to pound down those feelings. I would suggest you go into some kind of counseling and talk to someone who can help you work threw some of these. I have and it helps a lot just being able to share and see what is going on. OMG - we have missed you ! I just thought you were getting the computer fixed and that things were going so well, you decided that you were okay not to come back. I am so sorry to hear you are struggling and hope that you will return to doc and tell him the truth so he/she can try and help. Emotions can get out of control easily, especially when we are constantly challenged. You need to put yourself first. I wish there was something I could do or say that would help, but you have got to tell people that you are under stress and need a little extra loving care. I think as moms we never take enough time to be good to ourselves. And the truth is, everyone relies on us Bigtime, so it's hard. I am very proud that you made 6 months, that's huge! Let your reward be getting yourself more on track. And as far as smoking, it's not an option, smoking moms are BAD NEWS. You really don't want to go back - read what Martha put out there for you...... re-focus on those two beautiful kids and why you wanted this quit! You're doing great and if nobody has told you how terrific you are, well, I wish you would have come here sooner, because we'll tell you!!! Glad you are back and hope that you will start to take serious care of YOU and be gentle with yourself. I have a friend who suffers depressiona and pulls back from everyone and everyting. Stay with this quit 4my2Girls, it's one thing you will not regret. Please let me know how you are okay? Dear 4my2girls Hey there, I wondered what happened to you. CONGRATULATIONS on 6 months of FREEDOM!! That is HUGE and I am proud of you! You should be proud of yourself. I am sorry about the problems you are facing at this time. I like everyones advice. I really like what Shevie said about wear a sign! It makes sense, you need to get this resolved with your doc. And listen to CobenFan about being a mom and taking care of yourself. When I go to the beach I actually notice I am not alone not smoking. Everytime I go there are fewer and fewer smokers. Most of us are dealing with the weight issue. I had those "junkie" thoughts, thinking I should start smoking. My husband said great then you will be fat and smoke! He was teasing me but he was trying to tell me how UNrational I was thinking. So on that note...you gave a list of things that are wrong. If you start smoking again you will have thoughts 1-4 AND Thought #5 I hate that I started smoking again! I am so bummed I threw 6 months of freedom down the drain. If you start smoking you will still have thoughts 1-4. And a 5. Also.....I might be more where you are if I did not come to SSC. Even though I am quit I think coming here helps me to NEVER take the quit for granted. Even if it is just to read. Take Kare and ck in and let us know how you are doing, we are here for you. Hello all! It has been quite some time since I have been here. I got a new computer and I never quite made it back here!! Well, I have been having a tough one lately. Smoking thoughts have been racing through my mind.................... I have had a lot going on lately, and I am sure that is why I want to smoke. I feel like I have lost that empowerment that I had felt..... Let me explain: I went to the beach as I always do, but this time I actually paid attention to the smokers. When I smoked, I always felt like an outcast, like I was the only Mother who smoked. What a horrible mother..... But this past August, when I went to the beach, I noticed all kinds of people smoking. I was amazed to see how many people actualy smoked. Not to mention the smokers in my group. So there, put something in my head: Maybe I wouldn't feel like such an outcast if I smoked. That was thought #1. Then I had to plan a birthday party for my daughter and try to dodge bullets when the fighting family members found out that I had invited everyone........ Then I had to get my daughter ready for school. And my other daughter ready for preschool. So my daughter met a new friend in school. Well, her mother smokes. It is so difficult to watch people smoke. Especially mothers. So now that is thought #2. We have started softball and joined a gym. We are out everyday. And very busy. Being busy is good, but we are VERY busy. And I have worked out 5 times a week for over 1 month. I thought I was eating healthy...... There is no more fast food. I eat mostly salads..... But I have yet to lose even 1 ounce. So I get frusterated...... Thought #3. And my little depression monster has been creeping up on me. I have battled depression since I was a child. I have never been diagnosed, but I have many years of being able to put a smile on and when the Doc asks how is everything, somehow, "Everything is great" blurts out of my mouth. But not even 5 minutes later, when I get to my car, I am in tears and contemplating how I can engage in oncoming traffic......... It is a vicious cycle for me. Low self worth, and a stressful and sad marriage, and a busy schedule. They all add up and are taking a toll on me. Thought #4. Oh how I hate this. Fighting. Everything and everyone around me is

Oh my, you guys are the best!!! THANK YOU so much. All of your words were heard. I want to come back here on a daily basis. I felt so good when I was here. I want to dedicate myself again. My "verge" of smoking was more like a huge thought that would not go away. But that is just the junkie trying to gain leverage. There are others here that are really struggling that could use a hand. I want to be here to lend it. Helping others always made me feel good. Just as you guys are here for me. I really appreciate it!! I was feeling a bit better yesterday, but I know that this good feeling is just a phase. I will spiral downwards soon. I have made an appt with my doc. I just might carry that sign on my neck Shevie..... You know, I never even thought about the fact that if I had started smoking again, my problems would follow me. I may not cry over them, but they would still be there. And yes, I would be a fat smoker then. Re-confirming my quit is what I had to do. Just because I noticed all of the smokers, doesn't mean anything. I'm sure their were wondering why this crazy lady was starring at them.................. Anyhow, thank you guys again. I am living my life as a non-smoker. My routine does not include smoking. My life has no room for smoking. I am on my way to a better life for me and my girls. I know I will feel better soon. But now, I'm off to the gym.............. ;) 4my2girls p.s.- I forgot to reward myself for my six months....... So I went out and bought some of my favorite flavored coffee beans from Starbucks, and I am enjoying some right now!!!
