Well, judging from a newbies standpoint, it seems that those that come in and post and read a lot and get active supoorting others tend to stay that way and the ones who lurk and don't post and don't get "invested" or "involved" tend to just fade away, so no one really knows if they do or don't anymore. Sort of like some of my quits where I didn't tell anyone so that I never really quit. I mean, really, not telling ANYONE? Planned failure. But that was then, and this site is THE BOMB! I honestly didn't plan to succeed when I quit....I honestly didn't think i COULD succeed....but there are two things that have kept me going: 1) Beginning to feel the freedom of not living with an addiction (and loving it) (in between times when I'm homicidal) and 2) The endless support from SCC. At times when I have been tempted, I've thought about how hard it would be to come back and tell my "friends" when they have worked so hard to help me get here. Hope this WAVE lasts forever! As I wrote many times, this is my fifth major attempt to quit in the last 35 yrs as a smoker, and I'm determined to succeed! :) Cheers, nmc My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 61 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 619 Amount Saved: $305 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 12 Mins: 0 Seconds: 16

Yes, Phil I think you're right. I have had more success in any quit I've made over the past 10 years, right here. I've never had this much support before, or seeing the number of quitters feeling the same way I do. Yes it has its challenging moments(I'm being nice, I didn't say downright "hell" at times), but we're all facing them together! This is a great group. So glad I found this site. Cheers, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 283 Amount Saved: $81 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 0 Mins: 44 Seconds: 7

I know I have only been here a few weeks but we seem to be getting less one off puffers and failures everyone is doing so well! Lots of rocky moments but we (nearly) all seem to be pulling through What a bunch of stars! Oh Pam NO WAY COULD I GO BACK NOW! The last 11 weeks I have been to hell and back several times. I can never go through these last few weeks again NEVER! I have tried to keep my posts positive and upbeat but there have been times when I could have thrown the towel in ,many times. I believe the worst is over and I promise you and the world I have not touched a single smoke in that time. Hey I am getting serious lets rock on! 3 days for you to the big one!! Could be the time of year? Perhaps as Christmas and the New Year approach we want to get our resolutions out of the way? As long as it works..... Pam, I think there alot that slip... I did as well my first attemps. The orignal message was about lately. I have seen lots of new names. Not to sound like a broken record. But the ones that " I HAVE SEEN" come in and invest time here. Are seeming to be doing well. Yes there are also others that do not post as often and they are doing well to. We hear it all the time....Every Quit is differant. However to get back to my point, This site can make a differance if you use the tools and help availble. Take what you need and leave the rest. grace
