Day 12 -Keeping the Quit Going

17 years ago 0 123 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Dear Friends, Today is the start of Day 12 for me and I feel with a little certainty that I CAN do this. It may not always be easy but if you are determined you can. Like one of the wise ones says...You have to get to the point where you want to quit more than you want the next cigarette. Please believe in yourself. It is amazing what the human body and brain can do if you are determined to do it. Make a plan, listen to the advice from others who have been there and lean on them for support. As I read the posts from the veterans who have triple digit days under their belts, there is a common theme, Stay positive, Stay determined and committed to see this through and by helping others you can gain strength to stay quit. It has only been 11 days for me but I find myself telling my friends who smoke and say they don't know if they can quit, to go on this site and read the posts and you will see that you are not alone in this struggle, and more importantly, that you can do it too. Believe it and you will live it. Help others and you help yourself. I am very grateful to the members who have helped me so far.... To Phil, have a great holiday and thanks for the humor and encouragement To Cuddles, Princess, Hummy, Riverdale Man, Gonna Do It, Marie, Rusty and to the Support Specialists, thanks for the wise words and positive thoughts sent my way. But most of all, Thanks for believing in me. When you believe in me, I can't help but believe in myself. To the new quitters....We all believe in you. You can do it. :) Maria My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/6/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 252 Amount Saved: $44 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 8 Mins: 9 Seconds: 24
