Having serious health issues! Quit related???

17 years ago 0 43 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I am a diabetic with several side effect issues. Since I quit smoking, I am having even more effects to the existing problems! I don't know if the *new* problems have any bearing on my quit...or IF by ridding my body of the nicotene has caused the existing side effects to be more noticeable...just like improving the sense of smell & taste! Does that make sense??? Anyway... I am going to be offline for a few days, as my Doctor is putting me in the hospital to run some tests, to find out WHAT is going on in there! I have peripheral neuropathy. Lately I am experiencing more *noticeable* pain in my feet which makes it painful to stand on them! I also have been having an INCREASE in muscle spasms that are almost doubling me over sometimes now, and I have an *itch* all over my body that I can NOT relieve...by scratching, with bathing or any other way! I also have chronic asthma & bronchitis and chronic acid reflux! The symptoms have become more aggressive and linger longer since I quit! Maybe I just need an adjustment in meds to pick up the *slack* in the changes that quitting has caused in my body! Anyway...I go in the hospital tomorrow for tests! I know I will be there one full day, but I don't know how much longer! Anyway...I will return just as soon as I am released, and have the problems under control! Since hospitals are *ANTI tobacco products*...at least I will be *safe*! You will KNOW I'm back when you see my post with the result from my visit! I HATE hospitals!!! I AM a NON smoker...AT LAST! Betty, Its possible that your smoking has been masking symptoms of some illness, and when you stop smoking the symptoms abruptly become noticeable. You body heals in different ways and gets rid of the toxins in different ways. Our thoughts are with you :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
