I hear you loud and clear. I had a horrible night's sleep last night. I have a cold so I don't know if that counts. But my sleep hasn't been great this past week. And as for doing things, well other than go to work(part time), I throw the dishes in the dishwasher, make the meals, except for last night(it seems I slept through that!). My whole schedule is out of whack. If I feel down, I lay on the loveseat(with the fan on, because I'm hot too), watch tv, and pamper myself a bit. After all, this is hard enough without added pressure. I think that is why my previous quits haven't lasted. I was forever telling myself, "get on with in", "I should be doing this or that". So I would start up again, and yes, my house would be tidier, but was I any happier, NO way. so now I'm trying to enlist help from my family. This time round, I come first. So don't be too hard on yourself, Pink. What you are experiencing is normal. Be good to yourself. You deserve it! Cheers, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 218 Amount Saved: $63 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 18 Mins: 59 Seconds: 43

Hi Pinktexas, I know where you're coming from, the first couple weeks I had a hard time sleeping too. Give it a few more days and if you still can't sleep it might be time to see a doctor. Good luck and good night My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 37 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,042 Amount Saved: $145.04 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 20 Mins: 52 Seconds: 3

Pinktexas, it's normal to feel down when you quit smoking, you see you are giving up a habit that you had for so many years, so you're in mourning. Take care of yourself, protect your quit, you come first, after a while it gets better ride with it. You have already done 8 days wow that's great and I'm sure you feel better than you did on day one or 2 you see it's getting betteer already. Chin up you can do it. :)Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 97 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,461 Amount Saved: $388 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 20 Mins: 20 Seconds: 10

PinkTexas, it does get better, I hope you get a good night sleep, lack of sleep does not help with emotions. Take care :)Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 99 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,499 Amount Saved: $396 Life Gained: Days: 13 Hrs: 4 Mins: 24 Seconds: 36

May not be the most conventional and recommended sleep aid....But I find a nice little toddy right before bed a great help. I never really drank before, but hubby makes me a Jack and coke and I go nite-nite. I don't do that everynight, just whenever I find it hard to GO to sleep. Once I am asleep, I am fine! I'm raising my hand! Pink: I can't remember which member it was that bought the book, but if you continue to have trouble sleeping, borrow it---War and Peace.

pinktexas ... I went through the same thing when I first quit. I use Melatonin, like Healer recommended. Worked great and no OTC sleep aid hangover the next day.
