I hate housework!

I'm with Martha. Since I've quit I've been really preoccupied with purging my home of unneeded "stuff". So many items trashed or donated (and yet still don't have enough storage space :8o:) I'm by no means a neat freak yet, but I'm slowly working on getting my house neater and more organized. That and losing the 12 pounds I've gained since I quit! (Talk about a slooooow process ) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/29/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 79 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 948 Amount Saved: $322.32 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 7 Mins: 28 Seconds: 20

Well Sparky....I'm out of luck...I don't think the fireman likes me anymore since Gonna sent me up there to check on his sticky things....Guess I'm gonna have to do the housework. It's 200 days later and the cleaning phase STILL hasn't hit! Housework makes you ugly. Not you, Lainey, you're freakin' gorgeous, but certainly me & everyone else I know. Ok, I am one of the sad saps who likes to clean. I put on the rock & roll channell on the dish and boogie till its clean. However the house did suffer somewhat the first month of my quit. Finally getting back into the swing of it now! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 102 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,550 Amount Saved: $1,076.10 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 12 Mins: 44 Seconds: 57

That's funny because I just replied in Audrey's "I'm Stuck" post about growing into a new person after quitting. I now clean my house like I never knew my house could be cleaned. I have purged and organized all my closets and actually get a kick out of doing it. This person did not live at my house when I smoked! I have learned to embrace my inner clean freak though. She rocks! Well - today I had to face reality...I was long past hell week and heck week and it was time to deal with some past due jobs. I have to admit that I enjoyed the part about quitting which I allowed me to forget about those dustbunnies or the mildew growing on the shower curtain....but I guess we just can't keep doing that forever. The bad part.........I used to reward myself with smokes....The good part.........I got to reward myself with green tea and my SCC fix! In a away, cleaning the housework is kinda like quitting smoking......its really sucks while you're doing it.......but once you get rid of all the crud, the result feels great. (By the way, one of my rewards was a new shower curtain...no cleaning mildew for me!
