Day 6

HI Auntie :) More forward from the slip up. How long are you planning on beating urself up about it? I didnt have the feeling of a loss of a friend as you did but i have read a lot of posts in here where people have felt that way so it is completely normal to feel like you are "missing" something. Auntie you are doing so well. Stay strong. Before you know it you will be in your new home. I hope you have a wonderful day PrincessC :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 375 Amount Saved: $163.2 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 7 Mins: 28 Seconds: 4

Doing day 6 again, should be 13 but I have to stop dwelling on that screw-up. I'm not really craving a smoke I just miss it kind of like losing an old friend, one that has always been there for 40 years. Am I crazy?? I know that the smokes were anything but a friend, must be the nicodemons talking to me. Is this normal? Whatever normal is. Do any of you ever feel this way? My home is almost ready just have to wait for electricity so they can finish up inside, then I can move in. The electric company will get there when they can, could take a while. This waiting is unbelievably difficult for me. I guess I'm not a very patient person. My home has been there for 10 days and all I can do is look at it. Can't even put anything in it yet. I keep telling myself to wait and DON'T SMOKE, wait and DON'T SMOKE. Thank God for this web site, it really helps to come here and read, vent some and read some more. Thanks for listening. Stay strong and have a great day. Feel no quilt. Envision success. And know that turning your back on this particular old friend is one of the best decisions you'll ever make. If the thought of 'missing' an ol' friend ever enters your mind, quickly envision that friend killing you, because that is exactly what he was doing. Keep on keeping your quit. Envision yourself as a non-smoker. Envision a non-smoking life. You can make it come true. Believe in yourself. Hang in there! Try not to think about the slip. It will provide a reminder of how easily you can lose your quit. I quit in April and then blew it 3 days later, then waited until May to try again. I look and think...'I could have 30 more days on my meter'...and it does help. I won't be doing that again. So take it for what it is, a learning experience! Knowledge is power Carla My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/15/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 73 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,468 Amount Saved: $328.5 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 5 Mins: 24 Seconds: 21

Auntie, Your are doing great! Princess is right, let go of the guilt! You need to be proud that you go right back in there. You are going to be so occupied with the house you will not even notice the craves! This distraction is good for you and your soul! Good Luck, Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
