TY Josie :) I have had a rotten day :( Everything was going great until both kids started fighting and arguing. I haev explained over and over again to them, I want to smoke when I am stressed and since I cannot smoke, everything is magnified worse than it is and not smoking makes it worse. Yet they do not listen. I am sitting here so upset b/c of it all. I am at my wits end. How can I explain to them to understand what their mom is going thru? One is 9 and the other is 11. Since I quit, everything seems more like a scene from Mission Impossible.

Hi everyone. I have been smoke free for 3 weeks but still on the patch. I went cold turkey from the patch a week ago and flew into panic mode quickly. I went to my doc who prescribed 150 mg Wellbutrin XL. She said go back on the patch and keep taking the Wellbutrin. I took it Tuesday (Wellbutrin) and I was all jumpy and nervous. But I still had the 'brain fog' and I still had the severe case of insomnia. I read where it said to take it right before bedtime so I did last night. I was still in a tiny panic mode but managed to fall asleep and stay asleep. This morning my body wants to get up and go but I cant shake this brain fog. I had a full panel of blood tests and all are very normal. I have noticed I do not miss the cigs themselves but it's the nicotine. I am on 14 mg patch. Is the brain fog normal? As well as going into a short crying mode? I feel I am totally out of my element since I quit. It's like being bumped by a huge wave and as soon as I come back up for air, I am smacked again. I know I am prolly not making any sense but to me, it makes perfect sense. Did anyone else follow the same path as I am doing now?

G, My last day is going to be on the 28th, I'm going to be taken the wellbutrin this Sat. Stay strong, have faith that you can over come the urge. I have attacks of panic on a normal day. So I understand the feeling. Know that it will pass, think of what you might do with all the money you are going to be saving. I wish you luck and many blessings.

I also had bad panic today and I just cant concentrate. I had to leave work for the day. Hang in there it will pass for both of us, we are not alone. G, Hang in there. Don't give up. I know its really hard at this point. It will pass and tomorrow will be a new day. Take it one step at a time. PS Maybe you could talk to your doctor about upping your doseage. I know I am on the highest dose of wellburtrin right now and it's making a big difference in me. Help...I'm on day 9 of my quit. I've been using wellbutrin which has really been helping. I think I may have forgotten my meds today (got so busy here at work I can't remember). I just had the worst attack I've had yet. Scared the heck out of me. I tried quitting before but started again after I had terrible anxiety attacks. So far the wellbutrin has helped me.... I am shaking and can't seem to snap out of my panic state. Just grabbed a bag of carrots and started chomping. I hope this passes soon......

Hi Everyone Thanks for your support....I'm alive and well. Didn't think I was going to make it through that. This has been my worst day yet. Even worst than the spacey feeling I had last weekend. That has passed. I hope this does too! This is so much harder than I thought it would be. Would be nice to be on vacation right now....sure is tough to function when you're going through this. I'm going to keep picturing palm trees, sunshine and crystal clear water...Feels like this will never end! Sure could use one of those umbrella drinks right now....of course, then I would just want a cigarette...ouch! Duckie, This is normal and it will pass. This indistinct but annoying symptom is linked with carbon monoxide withdrawal. It gives a sense of being in "another dimension." It can include changes in distance and space perception, a floating feeling, and a total lack of concentration. Remember that carbon monoxide is a deadly poison - it is a good thing to get out of your system. How long will this last? The first few weeks after quitting. Tips to help: Plan your workload to account for your temporary lack of concentration. Avoid additional stress during the first few weeks. If you have a symptom that persists or seems worse than you expected, you should immediately consult a doctor. Its possible that your smoking has been masking symptoms of some illness, and when you stop smoking the symptoms abruptly become noticeable. Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
