That's it Jdtigg, It doesn't have to be huge, just make you feel a little better. Ideally, in the first few weeks, you should have little rewards for everytime you get a craving and don't smoke, one at the end of each smoke free day and a bigger one at the end of each week. Eventually, you'll find you won't have to reinforce yourself and your brain as often. Keep persevering, Danielle _______________________________________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi Jdtigg - While you take some time to do some deep breathing, remind yourself why you decided to Quit... go into detail with yourself. Fight the junkie talking and the withdrawels with the reasons you decided to stop smoking. Get the pictures clearly in your head, in living colour, WHY YOU DECIDED TO PUT THE CIGARETTES DOWN... Don't lose focus here! It does get better, but it will get worse before it gets better, so hold on tight. YOU CAN DO THIS - one moment at a time... jdtigg... There is light at the end of the tunnel. Keep moving. Lack of concentration, depression, not being able to focus, and anxiety are all part of the withdrawal process. You have made it through hell week so now you know you don't have to smoke. Every day is one day closer to never feeling this way again. You smoked for many years. Unfortunately, getting over that doesn't happen over night. It takes a while but each crave you get through makes you stronger for the next one. Keep moving forward. You are doing great! Jdtigg, Hang in there you're doing great :) There is light at the end of the tunnel - every single one of us who has quit thought it wasn't possible. But by various methods and means we get through - I remember well the struggle, the fight and the depression. Stay strong and make this one fight you win - because the struggle will go on forever and ever until you escape them. It gets so much better and easier - so hang in there what you are doing has absolutely no drawbacks only positives despite how I know you're feeling. GOOD LUCK :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 834 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 16,695 Amount Saved: 4170 Life Gained: Days: 124 Hrs: 0 Mins: 31 Seconds: 21

TIME FOR A REWARD!!! I vote for a hot fudge sundae! :eg: You can do this. Look how far you've come! Change the stinkin' thinkin' to hugs for you. Wrap your arms around yourself and say "I'm doing good!" Because you are! J, You need to take some you time! The first week is very hard and you are doing well. Now take the time to reward yourself and let your body relax. This is normal and will pass :) Remember,if symptoms proceed longer than expected, check with your doctor to rule out anything medical. Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
