Hello All, I just wanted to pass this little tip of advice that I got when quitting. "The only way to stop this deamon is to starve this deamon". It has helped me get through some of the cravings. I hope it helps you also. Oh gads - day three! It was awful! But let me tell you, this is possible. If i could do it, ANYONE can. You are doing great to be posting and making a plan for your day. I sobbed and slept and posted most of week one, then went for a massage. Your idea of retail therapy is grand. Look for a euphorbia wulfenii. Cool plant! Just remember not to smoke. Not a puff. Not a whiff. You are in withdrawal and never want to go through this hell again, right? This is a CHOICE - you can go through withdrawal ONCE or you can go through it repeatedly. Once means you are quicker in getting to the end of the tunnel. LIGHT! FEEDOM! LIFE!! absofab - yes, we can all help you. To go from 16 to 6 is a great start! And yes, you're going to feel crappy for a few days. So fill your time productively. Work the program tools. Start a quit journal. Write your reasons for quitting. Write a reward plan. Think of ways to cope with tough patches. Read posts and ask questions. Drink lots of water. Eat something every few hours to keep your blood sugar up. Know that you have the power to beat this addiction -- if I could do it after 40 years, you can, too! Suschik, here are a couple of ideas that might help you. 1. Watch your caffeine intake. Your body seems to be much more sensitive during the first few weeks and it may make you jumpier than usual. 2. EAT!!! It is extremely important to keep your blood sugar up. Low blood sugar can give you the heebie-jeebies. Eat something every couple of hours -- cheeses, crackers, fruit. Stay away from doughnuts! :8o: 3. The aids don't take away all the withdrawal symptoms. It's more like time-release. So don't get discouraged -- just take it one hour, one day at a time. 4. Whatever you do, DON'T SMOKE! That's the point, after all, isn't it? Even though you might be tempted to take a little hit to ease the cravings, DON'T!!! 5. Stay on here and read and post. Yes, you CAN do this. You ARE doing this! Rusty :)
