Hey Bingo - do you want an virtual excercise buddy? I have been riding my Vespa way more than I have been excercising :(. We could hold each other accountable for getting up and moving! Let me know what you think? Hey Bingo, I remember when you first came and so far you have done brilliantly. Don't be afraid of exercise, with the right attitude it can be very enjoyable and immensely satisfying. You are right to go with someone who can guide and advise you, that way you are more likely to achieve results. I can tell you from my own experience that getting fitter and losing weight is a darn sight easier than quitting smoking. Don't be afraid of exercise and diet, you are going to feel so much better as a result - I just cannot tell you how much better, you will just have to experience it. Why do I know, well I am a qualified fitness instructor (I do not work as one now) and in the past I have trained many people with severe weight issues and health problems. The difference in these people after only a few months is astounding and in many cases unbelievable. So stick with it, your trainer will guide you, just keep at it and don't over do it. I wish you well. Okay Bingo, This is getting scary. I am doing the same thing. Looking to lose the extra pounds that I have accumulated along the way. During this quit, depending on the weight scale used, I have gained anywhere from 6-9 pounds. OUCH! So, I too am on the second part of my quit. Meaning, I need to get my wits about me and start the rest of my life. Hey, 40 days is just GREAT for you! Congratulations!!! You have a really good handle on this quit thing. I applaud you. Hi, Bingo. Congratulations on your fitness plan. I remember my first time on the treadmill, too. I made it about 20 minutes at 2.5 MPH and 0 incline and that was it, I was done for the day! gasp, wheeze, pant Now I do an hour at 3.5 MPH (still walking) and 5% incline, ending up breathing hard (but steady), soaking wet, and feeling great! I think the fear you're feeling is, like before you quit, the fear of failure. Just remember, you can always bail on the fitness plan just like you can always bail on your quit. But somehow, I don't think you will. ;) Just like the quit, it'll be rough at first. Over time, though, the rough spots will smooth out and you'll actually begin to enjoy it. This is #2 great move for yourself. Awesome!! :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 375 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,509 Amount Saved: $1425 Life Gained: Days: 70 Hrs: 0 Mins: 1 Seconds: 23

Bingo, Excellent determination! You can do this, just take it step by step. This can be your alternative to smoking. It can occupy you and distract you. Take the time to check with your doctor periodically and let them know your plan. Your are on the right path! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
