Sorry but I had a puff!!

17 years ago 0 115 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Good I'm glad you haven't it will make you ill - head in toilet was not how I wanted to spend my night out and the guilt the next day for those three puff's was too much to bear. I'm glad it was vile as it didn't make me want to carry on like it does with some. Everytime you want a cig think puke, orrible puke, dizzyness and headache like you head is exploding, and you won't want one unless you enjoy putting your head in a toilet bowel and throwing your guts up and then wrenching some more. Sorry to be graphic guys but that is exactley what it did to me with just three puff's - my body is free from the nicotine and needed to tell me how bad it was and boy it did tell me !!!!! Joanne, You may be right to avoid these social situations for a while. It's worth it in the long run. There will come a time when you won't feel that temptation to smoke. In the meantime, stay quit; a one-off lapse can easily become a habit. Take care Mr Ed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 97 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,920 Amount Saved: 727.5 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 5 Mins: 36 Seconds: 32

Lesson Learned. That is what it is all about Joann. Social settings are difficult especially this early in your quit. Protect your quit no matter what. You have fought very hard for the 18 days on your meter. Keep the meter running. One step at a time, one day at a time. Let this be a lesson learned and not the end. Recognize what happened for what it is, let it go and put it behind you. I cannot change the past but the future is waiting for me. You CAN do it! Hi, Joanne. Hubby is a wise man. He deserves a hug (another if he's already had one :)). This is a strong addiction and slips are quite common. The secret is to learn from the slip so you don't repeat it. The time to stop beating yourself up is now. Slip made, lesson learned, straighten up, dust off, back at it. It's totally up to you. You still have 18 days that you didn't smoke. If you feel that a puff or two negates those 18 days, then I guess you need to start over. It doesn't sound to me like you are back to Day 1. If you were, you would have kept smoking. But now you know that social situations may threaten your quit...you should probably avoid them for a while. you haven't failed.....the junky came calling and you opened the door and let him in.....that's all.....do you now see that you gotta keep him OUTSIDE? When you get in a situation where he comes slinking around? if you aren't strong enough to "mentally" handle him, then you have to physically handle him...which means removing yourself from the point of temptation. It's simple actually....you don't listen and you don't open the door....you do whatever is necessary to keep these two rules. period so quit beating on yourself and get on with being a quitter. Katy p.s. do what feels right to YOU with the meter....after all, it's just a meter.....it doesn't meter to me LOL My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1598 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 63,933 Amount Saved: $8789 Life Gained: Days: 208 Hrs: 11 Mins: 32 Seconds: 49
