ROTFLOL, NascarFan. Not at you, but because of you. Been there, done that, it is quite funny now. :)
About my second week, or so, one of our coordinators stopped me in the hall with a question. I got about 20 words out okay, then things started to mess up. I mean major brain/mouth disconnect. It began with malformed words, syllables out of place, slurs, that sort of thing. The attempt to regain control on the fly just made it worse. Rapidly it degraded to totally random, out-of-context words just popping out on their own. Luckily, all could be said in front of a preacher or a mother!
Finally, I just had to stop trying, shut up, take a deep breath, and regroup. Then I was able to proceed. But I tell you, while it was happening the look on her face was priceless. I don't think I could have gotten a better one if an arm had sprouted out of my forehead.
It passes, NascarFan. Enjoy it while you can. After all, when will you ever be able to be so crazy with a perfectly valid excuse? :)
