You know it's funny Brick Wall. My cravings seemed for me most bothersome the second week. I think the whole process was starting to wear on me and I was having a difficult time keeping my brain wrapped around the fact that I would not be sending it anymore nicotine and goodness knows what other chemical I was feeding it with my cigarette smoke. Just hang in there and try to practice the relaxation techniques that the folks here have suggested. Sometimes I feel like a whale letting out those deep breaths! Can't imagine what the people around me are thinking!!! Seven days are great!! You have a lot invested in this quit. Before you know it the cravings will begin to subside to occational cravings. Gosh, it just amazes me the power of this nicotine addiction. We are strong though and will conquer the craves and this addiction!! Hi Bw, Tough day huh. *cyberhugz* Gosh, you hang in there! The forecast is sunny. I'm not a weatherman but I can see the sky from here ;) Ya know, on a rough day you might consider going somewhere you NEVER smoked to get some relief. (library, mall, theatre) OR (the dirty word) e x e r c i s e! Seriously, If you can exercise it really will help take your mind off the 'contant craves'. It's time for the one week reward too. One more thing, what you are feeling is 'the healing process'. You need to experience it to heal. Push through it. Stay strong. [b]Cigarettes mean death. Smoking kills. Focus on the truth.[/b]

Hi Brickwall and congratulations on making it through Hell week! Quitting really sucks and unfortunately, we do not get over all the affects of smoking over night. It takes a while and the first few weeks are the worst of it. Hang in there. Looks like you are doing great to me. Just don't smoke! Everyday is one day closer to never feeling this way again. Hi, Brick wall. So Ol' Nic snuck up and rabbit punched you, huh? Sneaky b*@#$%d! :mad: Be like your name, be an immoveable object. You can get through this. Just have patience and it will pass. Doesn't matter how much you think about them. Think all you want. Just don't smoke. That's all that's really important right now. If being out of your routine is no longer helping, maybe you should try being in it. Sometimes structured circumstances give a level of comfort and security that make it easier to deal with the craves. There is no one week wall that I've seen. You're through hell week and into heck week which is sort of like hell week, but not as bad. Tough it out, Brick wall. There's nothing Ol' Nic can throw at you that you can't handle. Congratulations on one week quit. Sleeping is good, Joanne. Whatever it takes. FYI, the nicotine's been out of your system for a few days now. So if you do smoke, you'll be starting all this over again. Just keep that in mind. There's no sense in undoing all your hard work. Take it by the day, the hour, the minute, or even the moment if you have to. It is rough at first, no doubt about that. But it does get easier and it is soooooo worth it in the long run.
