I hit a week and my head hurts

18 years ago 0 115 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi Ryan I had some strange symptoms in week two - bleeding gums, itchy scalp and the right side of my nose next to my eye was tender to touch just as if I had been hit there. Keep going as you are doing so well, some days will be better than others. Yesterday I had a great day and hardly thought about a cig, infact I thought "Oh I haven't thought about a cig"! today has been totally different, this morning I nearly gave in and bought some as I couldn't stop thinking about them, as the day wore on I feel much better and at this moment I wouldn't have one for anything. Good luck Joanne My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 413 Amount Saved: 80 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 10 Mins: 59 Seconds: 10

Well today I hit my one week mark, and let me tell you it has not been easy. My cravings have certainly cut down a ton, now im experiencing the healing pains. I have the scalp pains bad. Like I can hardly touch the right side of my head. Feels like Im bruised. But Im also having those pains in my right ear and right tonsel. I was wondering if anyone else ever experienced this while quitting or if I should go get it checked out? Also, I was messing around with the quit-o-meter, and this made me sick. Since Friday, February 10, 1989, I've been smoke-free for: 17 Year(s), 102 Days, 8 Hours, 14 Minutes, 36 Seconds. I have saved $30,904.30 by not smoking 157683 cigarettes. By not smoking I have added 2 Years, 58 Days, 14 Hours, 55 Minutes, 16 seconds. to my life expectancy. This is the date I started smoking. I remember it exactly because it was my best friends 16th birthday, and I stole a pack of Salems from his girlfriends mother that day. But damn, with those figures I could have my house paid off and own another boat. Just sucks. I hope your head feels better soon! Hang in there and if it gets bad call your doc! Wow on the stats of how long you smoked. It makes it all very real when looked at like that! Stay strong!! Ryan, you know what the answer to this is? yep - don't smoke for the next 17 years and look at how much cash and life you will save. What more incentive do you need? Ryan.. Every one's quit is different and we all experience different side affects. If you are questioning what you are feeling you should probably consult your doctor. Congratulations on making it through Hell week. The don't call it hell week for nothing. For the first 60 days of my quit I would get really bad dizzy spells, I had horrible headaches, and what we called the heeby jeebies. You know where you just itch all over, your skin is crawling and you just want to scream! All of this passes in time. Hang in there. Remind yourself that your body is healing. Just think if the withdrawal is like this, imagine all the damage you were doing to yourself. Scary stuff huh! Hi, Ryan. From time to time I experience the same thing you've described. It's like my skin hurts, aches. My cause is a pinched nerve in my back or neck resulting from stress-tensed muscles. Usually only lasts a day. Another(!) boat? :) Congratulations on surviving hell week. Keep up the good quit. Ryan....perhaps you should see your family doctor? Along with all the healing symptoms, we are also more susceptable to infections when we first quit smoking. there are many reports of sinus troubles for a while after quitting....any of these things can turn nasty without proper care, so don't neglect yourself. and it makes me sick too, to think of all we threw away by smoking. Our family as a unit have saved over 40 grand in 4 years by not smoking. I don't want to dwell on how much money we have burned up. Don't think negative....it sometimes works hand and hand with your addiction. Get on the positive side and think what you 'gain' by not smoking....not what you have lost.
