Hi everbody - I am new to this discussion group. I quite cigarettes April 9, 2005 after many many years of smoking. I tried all kinds of quite methods. I want so much to quite --doing this just one day at time. It has not been a walk in the park- the first 2 weeks are terrible, day (9) was hell. I would not surrender. I have been using the patch & my higher power. Things have settled a little. I need help from you people to get thru all of this. This time I got bronchitus & visiting the Dr. she was running all x-ray & blood for everthing to cancer. I was never so scared in my life, until the results were returned everything was normal I said to myself this is the end of smoking & meaning it from the bottom of heart. Well, I am at the discussion group for the support I can get. Thanks Mazzie

Hi mazzie, Its only my 4th day since I had the last ever ciggy, I am not useing any patches or gum, ect.I have had bronchitus for more years than I care to remember, but I am waiting on results for throat cancer, so I know what its been like for you. Regardless of the results, I will never light another cig in my life, and if it turns out whatever the problem is in my throat isnt cancer, well thats an even better reason to never light up again. And there are some wonderful people on this site to help each other, so good luck mazzie, and I hope we all reach our goal. mikomi.

Hi Mazzie, Well done on your smoke-free 3 weeks!! There are many reasons which trigger a quit, but once you begin the journey I believe that you soon get to realise that smoking is waste of time, money, health and life. Keep going and be proud of your achievement! Dear Mazzie Congratulations on your 9 day quit! That is AWESOME! You have come to the right place to get support for your quit journey. I know it must of been very scary waiting on results that could have been life threatening. It sounds like you had a wake up call and listened. I am proud of you for that. I came a few weeks into my quit to SSC instead of before or at the start like most of the group and I have to say....SSC saved my quit. I know I would have caved had it not been for the support I get here on a daily basis. Besides my sheer determination and patches, I lacked DAILY support. You can and will get that here. Read, read, read the posts. And post often. Stay Strong!
