What an amazing story!! Smoking has imposed on nearly all your life, and now you're taking control! You must feel so proud of yourself. Thank you for sharing....i've got day 1 tomorrow, so your story - along with others - shall inspire me and give me faith! This website is such a great find. I had no idea that such support was available. I reckon i'm going to become addicted to reading member's journeys and insights! You kick butt another month Alley! I am one month into my quit and I would like to post what my first month was like. I would like all of you to post where you are at and where this journey has taken you. When I quit smoking 31 days ago, I did not plan or prepare for my quit. (not what I would recommend) I had thought about it and knew it was something I wanted to do but it was just never the right time. I didn't even tell my hubby till I was quit for 24 hours. To say the least he was a bit shocked and didn't think I was serious. The first week was very rough on me and my family. I slept a lot and still do. When I was on day 8, I was going crazy or so I felt and that is when I found the SSC site. I joined and posted my first post. I believe I named my first post "Day 8 and going INSAINE". I was amazed how people came to rescue and give me support and advice. The next 2 weeks the cravings weren't so bad but my temper was out of control. I snapped at the smallest things. I was frustrated, mad, upset all the time or so it seemed. I posted and all my new friends here gave me some great advice on how to deal, how to communicate. How we must continue to say were sorry to our loved ones for all that we are putting them threw. As I came up on my 4 weeks of being quit. I am finally starting to be able to breath better. My temper is starting to get a little longer. I am learning to talk to my hubby about how I feel and what this addiction has done to me. I started smoking when I was 12 years old. I never knew how to handle stress with out good old nicotine. My first month has been an adventure, a roller coaster and a ticket to freedom. I have made it threw the hardest time in my quit and there is no looking back now. Good Morning AlleyAnn, WOW 31 days! I was reading your post and thinking how different and similar our quits are as we both have the same quit date. As you the first week was h*ll, and I also slept a lot. I hit bottom on Day 6th with depression and Posted for HELP. And thanks to SSC they came to my rescue. The next 2 weeks were a breeze, I was happy. I started growing Mentally, Spiritually. I am not the same person I was 31 days ago. I really like the new me. I think I was always there, just hiding behind the addiction of Nicotine. Then came day 24. Out of blue came the CRAVINGS.. I posted again, and all my friends on SSC were there to help me threw another bad day. As for a temper issue I have not had that problem. May-be it is because my Hubby also quit a week before I did. I pull him up when he is down and he pulls me up when Im down. If we get down together, then I run to my computer and POST. I truly believe 100% in my heart I would not of made it with out the SSC site. You guys are GREAT. Day 25.. Im back!. One thing that has helped me a lot is all the FUNNY post. I read the post alleyann you bump forward on Excessive Gas http://www.stopsmokingcenter.net/support/viewmessages.aspx?forum=15&topic=27218 I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants. Take time to smile and laugh it helps so much. If you all dont know, redrosie gave me the trophy for best copying and pasting April 2006!! I dont feel comfortable yet giving much advice. I have a hard time putting my thoughts into words. In this post I was hoping to bring a smile to someone that might of felt down and I think I did.
