Thanks so much Carole. I had kinda figured most of that out but thought It would be easier if I just asked instead assuming. I have read so much about you the past couple of days and even saw your 60's picture. I wasn't here in the 60's but came in the early 70's. Have a great party and a great day. 1 year is HUGE and hope that my year fly's by so I can join the VIP club. So Im just curiouse on some things. I have heard things about the "knights", "Ash Kickers", "6-12 Club III" ect. those are just a few I can remember. How did these groups get there names and who is in these groups. I have figured out that going to beach is at your 100 quit day. "I think". Is there some place that lays all these things out? I feel so left out at times. :) Thanks for the info. oh gosh - please don't feel left out. This is the most inclusive and open group of people ever to grace this earth! I'll try to help. "Ash kickers" and "knights" and "unsmokeables" and lots of other names are groups of people who banded together because they were quitting about the same time. They gave themselves a name (usually voting on a name for the group) and welcomed anyone who was quitting around that time to join them. Anyone could and would post on their threads, but it was a way for them to identify themselves, find each other each day and form a sub group of love and support. It is wonderful if you happened to be quitting when a group of others were quitting. You might look to see if there is a group of April quitters, if you like the idea. I was not part of such a group (for no special reason other than I don't think we thought to form one). Whether or not you have a sub-group or a name, you will find the folks here incredibly supportive. I am celebrating my one year anniversary today and I am certain that I owe my life to this site and the folks here. The BEACH became a name to signify the goal of 100 days. A huge accomplishment. It was a place to aspire to. A hope that one could relax a bit after all of the pain and effort of staying smoke free for 100 days. There is sand and cabanas and virtual rewards and a big welcome party when you make it there. It like every other "club" is open to all. The 6-12 club is for quitters who have reached 6 months. Often 6-12ers have different issues. They usually are still active on the main threads giving support to newcomers, but sometimes they still have problems with their quits and want a safe place to let down without scaring newbies. It is also a wonderful club med type resort - another way to virtually reward oneself for having reached a milestone. And too it is also a place to go to check in on those who quit around the same time that you quit. You will find that you love and revere these folks like fellow vets who were in battle with you. Then there is the VIP club. It is for those who are over 1 year. I get to join tomorrow. :) There is a big party planned. Folks here don't check in so often, but it is nice place for us old timers to check in with our fellow fri
