STOP, take a deep breath. It's OK, I was like that this morning, ready to kill anybody for a smoke, but it did pass and I made it through. STOP, running yourself down, do some daily affirmations at first it seems stupid but it works. Keep going one minute at a time! Tammy :)

I wanted to let you know that I broke and watered down those cigs. I honestly thought that they were all out of the house!! God, I didn't want or need any temptation around at all!! It's like if you're on a diet you don't go to a bakery etc... I knew if I didn't get rid of them I would think of them sitting in the drawer calling my name. Forget about it--that's playing around--I'm so done. At first I was like oh put one or two on the side just incase--the junkie thinking of course. Saying to myself and laughing. Telling myself what a trip I can be and to stop it! My thoughts go to how nice it is to smell my fresh hair. Brush my teeth and no sink'n cig smell on my breath or my clothes. I try to think about the positive things the things that are beneficial by not lighting up! I'm fighting the fight of my life for my life. I want to live not die. I am disabled but I still am alive. I don't want to add to the list of health problems. Taking it at a minute, second, whatever it takes I must and I will do this!! babs My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/26/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 108 Amount Saved: $15.75 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 10 Mins: 4 Seconds: 41

So sorry I lost it. I was going through severe nicotine withdraw. I didn't understand what was going on. When I went for this laser treatment I was told I would feel minimal withdraw. That this laser puts out a "feel good feeling." I was doing alright and then bam I'm shaking, sweating, confusion, it was crazy. I felt like that when I wore the patch. I know that their is some withdraw and no magic pill but from all that I have read about this type of treatment, I was not suppose to feel this bad! Anyway, I didn't give up. I called and called. Finally, at 4 pm I got through. My voice shaking and explained what was going on. This stress of this is not good for my disability because I get more pain. I took a taxi and paid well over $70.00 for a round trip ride. The clinic felt so bad for me they were trying to give me $10.00 lol I kindly thanked them but refused gently. I asked WHY was I like this and was told that apparently I'm highly addicted to nicotine. No kidd'n I thought to myself. I do believe this treatment does help. It's better than the patch at least for me because I am very sensitive to medication and have all sorts of negative reactions. So, I went through the procedure again and I let them know that I appreciated it! Sorry if I sounded like a nut but I felt like I was going to loose and was so afraid!! I want this quit. I've been drinking a gallon of water a day to wash out the nicotine in my system so in 3 more days I should have all of that junk out. Thank you all for posting a response to my cry of help. I'm not use to asking and so appreciate the time you all took to post to my cry. babs My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/26/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 86 Amount Saved: $10.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 8 Mins: 8 Seconds: 12

I went for laser treatment. It's 2 days now. I was told that if I needed more treatments that they offer it free for 11 months. The stress of withdraw is driving me crazy. Being disabled I can't go for walks or drives etc. I called this laser place yesterday and was told that if it's still bad tomorrow to call. I've called 2 times so far and even e-mailed them. I am so angry. My back hurts so much!!! I can't take it. These liars. Take my $300.00 and make promises and NOW I NEED HELP with this withdraw and nothing!! I am so close to disputing this bill and if they don't call me back I think I will!! Am I wrong?? I've been drinking a gallon of water each day. Listening to relaxation tapes, posting and reading, praying, crying. I thought I really had all smokes out of the house and found them. I did lite up but put it out like the devil. GOD, PLEASE HELP ME!! I feel like I'm caged in and I am so disappointed that I put my faith and trust in a company that seems to me that they don't care. I do want to quit. OK. It's the withdraw. As I stress it goes straight to my back and between withdraw and this stress I feel like I'm going crazy. I feel ashamed. I want to quit I went to this place because they said that I would not experience withdraw. What do I do?? Hope what I'm writing makes sense. My mind is rushing and its' so hard. God, help me!! babs My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/26/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 80 Amount Saved: $10.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 7 Mins: 29 Seconds: 30

HIBabs - I'm so glad that you got through to laser therapy office and are doing better. I read the post from Shevie and agree that everyone is different and will react to stop smoking aids differently. While I felt a slight sense of well being after the laser therapy, my husband felt absolutely nothing different at all. Neither one of us had violent physical cravings that made us feel unable to cope (have had that once before many years ago). You're doing great with your water, stay busy and try to keep positive. Cravings to lessen and the first day that you have that you don't crave will be one of your happiest. I have days where I don't think about smoking hardly at all and then I have days that make up for those days (Smile). I have a close friend in a wheelchair and know that medications and pain management are extremely different for him that a person who is not. So many complications. I admire your strength to do this and keep fighting! Hi Babs Sorry you are having a tough time right now. With the laser therapy place I attended, they allowed you to come back in the first 8 days if you felt you needed to for a boost. Also, they provided a 6 month boost if you decide you want to go back. You have to really want this quit, the laser is not the cure all to this horrific addiction. It HELPS. Believe me the crave is still there - it's just more of a mental thing. Please try not to let it escalate on you, it will drive you crazy. You're in charge of your life and you say - NO SMOKING. Riverdale Man gave you the best advice - keep your hands busy, if you crochet, play cards, try a puzzle, anything is good, Just Don't Smoke. You will get over this rough patch - breathe through it. One at a time. If you can't deal with phone call to the laser place, ask someone to make the call for you. We're here - Hang in there Babs. Hi Babs. I hope you are feeling better today! :) My hubby and I were considering laser treatment as well, however the price tag haulted that right away!! We wanted to quit together, and the over $600 price tag was, in no reachable!! We found a hynosis seminar instead. Guarenteed money back - we had nothing to lose. So we did it, and just like Shevie said, not really sure it was the hypnosis that helped us quit, but regardless, we are both still quit. I do recommend the hypnosis seminar to everyone who asks me. It is up to them. Anyhow, I always get off subject....... Let us know how you are doing. And if you haven't already - go thrash those cigs you found. No need to have them laying around. You are almost over your 3 days. Hang in there, and post anytime you need!! Babs, calm down!! I don't know about the treatment you have had but obviously you have been badly let down here but don't let that start you off smoking again. Why should it? it will not make one jot of difference to the company you have been dealing with, it will only harm you. Fight them as you see fit but just don't punish yourself by smoking. See what I mean, punish yourself because they have let you down - now does that make sense??? Babs... I'm not sure about the laser treatment you are speaking of. I have never heard of it myself. I always wanted that miracle pill to quit smoking and while we are at it, I will take one for the weight as well. We all want the easy way out. Unfortunately, you are a nicotine addict just like the rest of us here. Now you find yourself in Hell week. This is part of the quit pocess. Quitting is hard. No doubt about it. You will also experience every emotion ever thought of during this process. Go ahead and kick, scream, shout, cry, be angry, tear up a pillow, break dishes, whatever it takes, just don't smoke. I told myself early in the quit that every day is one day closer to never feeling this way again. Withdrawal sucks! Remember it well when you think about lighting another cigarette. Remember how tough this is and I'm sure you will not want to repeat it. Take some deep breaths. How about doing a puzzle, reading a book, watching a movie? Anything to take your mind off of smoking. You are on day two. Do not give up now. Keep going. NOPE is how we all quit. Not One Puff Ever, so if you have any cigarettes drown them in water and then throw them out. Make sure you soak them first because you will be looking for them later (lots of people have dug through the trash for a cigarette). You are in control, not the addiction. Hang on tight and keep going. It is so worth it. I promise.
