Jeaniegirl, The best thing about this site is that it's open 24/7. And you don't have to worry about waking anyone up. Just post a holler for help and then go read some back days in one of the forums. Check back every 5 minutes or so, and you soon will have an answer. Just don't smoke until you get one. Good Luck! thankyou for your words of encouragement, i have a feeling this is going to be the best decision i ever made in regards to reaching out and asking for support, this is my first time, and i feel more secure inside just knowing i am not alone in this battle. I have come to terms that i am an addict, and i have come to realize that this can be beat by just reading all the beautiful words on this site... thankyou again.... stay quit....all the best jeanigirl.

About eating a butt, MmMm..let me think! i think the worst thing i did was dig butts out of the trash can, garbage and all, damp and smelly, and yes even tried to light one and have a puff. Talk about addiction and desperation. well come saturday i will turn over a new leaf(harmless kind)i look forward to chatting with you all, keep up the positve vibes, all the best jeanigirl

I had quit on feb 22 2006, and was feeling good except for the monster in my brain, you know how it goes, go on have a cigi You need one. Well this is total rubbish, its not a need its an addiction. well to keep this short, i found this site out of a need for support, i stopped beating myself up over loosing my quit because i have gained more knowledge of how to beat this monster down, and NO the cigi did not help me during a stressful period, it actually gave me the jitters. Of course i was mad and sad at myself, but then i really understood the power of this addiction, and the noise and battle that goes on in ones head. So yes my new quit date is this saturday june 10th, i feel even better prepared to win this battle, please if anyone has any suggestions or tips, they are welcomed, i am an open book, all the best jeanigirl

In a way that is good to know!(See, Im not alone) Call me blind but i did not realize how big an issue nicotine addiction was, i was even more amazed that there are millions of people trying to break free. I really want this freedom, i keep reading, researching, but i know it will always come down to me to break this ridiculous chain. As a smoker i stayed clear of the all the negative issues, now as a pending quitter i am like an open book, and arming myself to do battle. I think this is the bigger issue, i know for myself and past quit that this addiction is deeply seeded in the brain, after repititious action over and over. Any idea's how to turn that around to break all this previous brainwashing, all the best jeanigirl

Welcome jeanigirl!! Way to go on setting your quit date. I think all true smokers have hit the garbage can more than once in their smoking life. It really is disgusting to admit, but I didn't want you to think were the only garbage picker. Welcome and stay close, it really has helped me. Jeanigirl, You are on the right track! The more you know about nicotine, the better! Did you know that BreakingFree posted an article on how nicotine actually PROTECTS cancer cells ? Did you know that if you used a needle and injected yourself with nicotine you would die instantly ? Did you know that nicotine is a pesticide? Did you know that nicotine works faster than heroin in the body ? Yes, arm yourself with knowledge and defeat NicoDemon! Read a book called "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking" by Allen Carr ! It really helped me !
