Patch - Vivid Dreams

Hey Redrosie - you are correct in assuming I haven't done any of these things befoe, all except the escaped prisoner thing. I'm kidding. The only one of these things I've ever done is scuba diving. I've been a certified diver since 1997. And by the way - congrats on making it ot the beach! You need to reward yourself today. BIG TIME! I haven't had any smoking dreams or nightmares at all. All the dreams have been pretty good. The escaped prisoner dream was so real I woke up feeling like I had to hide. I'm using the Nicoderm patch, I'm at 21mg and I step down in about a week now. Perhaps then the Technicolor dreams will fade a bit, but until then, unless they scare the living bejesus out of me, I'm rolling with it. Why not, every nights a new adventure. (It takes a whole lot to scare me by the way, I don't spook easily) Last night, believe it or not I was climbing a waterfall. Don't ask me to explain, I can't. It was like rock climbing which I've never done, and being underwater all at once. The alrm went off before I finished and i was dissapointed. I wanted to go back to sleep and see how it came out. I gotta wonder if these dreams aren't triggered a bit by the anxiety of quitting. They all seem to be high stress situations but they all work out well in the end. I guess that's my mind telling me I'm going to be fine without the smokes? I'll make it okay? I dunno, I'm no psychologist. All I can say is what a long strange trip it's been.

C'mon redrosie - you know I'm not still in - they don't give internet access to guys in the big house! It was just a dream - never been to prison - never plan on doing anything that'll get me there. Well, maybe I'll take a tour of Alcatraz or something..... 5 WEEKS TODAY! Hooray for me!

Last night I raced motorcycles. Talk about vivid. I have no experience racing bikes. I've ridden for over 25 years but I don't race. Now I want to! It was awesome how close together and how fast we were moving. Watching the bikes in front dip as we went into a corner was cool and so real. If real racing is anything like that dream, that's for me. (but I'm too old and afraid - ha ha) The other dream I can remember had something to do with growing apples. I kid you not. I was managing an orchid of trees. Hundreds of them. A lot of walking through the trees and looking at them. Pruning them and tagging them with colored ribbons. Again, I have no experience in growing apples, and based on that dream I'm not going to either. These dreams are like a job search for crying out loud. Sooner or later I'm gonna hit on a dream and that's gonna be it. I'll have to leave my career as a software developer and do something different. It seems most of the dreams are physical in nature. I have a very sedate job. I think my body is trying to tell me to get moving. I got to move it move it..... I'm going to go for a long walk at lunch today instead of sitting here at my desk eating and reading. My head is trying to tell me something and I think I should listen. Wonder what I'll be doing tonight???? Airplane pilot? Secret agent? The world best surgeon? Not one dream has involved smoking either. That's telling. Cy, The patch can be different for everyone. Most people have vivid dreams with it on at night. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We can all learn from one another. Keep Strong, Josie ______________________ The SSC Support Team.
