I am always amazed by the power cigarettes have over our lives. I have lost several long quits (one over a year) and the relapses all started with just a puff. It sounds like you don't want demon nicotine to get hold of you again. We are all cigarette addicts and are just a puff away from starting in smoking again. You are back in control again. Good for you. Penquin... I am dancing for you!!!! I am so happy for you. You choose to live. You choose life over a slow death caused by smoking! I'm so excited for you. You decided that your life is worth it. Put this past weekend behind you. It is in the past and isn't relevant anymore. The only thing that matters is that you don't quit quitting! Yes, it is going to be tough. So What! Life is hard and sometimes it kicks us when we are down. What matters is that you get back up and fight. You are on the road to a life time of Freedom! You can complain, kick, scream, fight, cry, laugh, and whine we don't mind and will be with you every step of the way. You, my friend, have true courage :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 269 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,398 Amount Saved: $941.5 Life Gained: Days: 23 Hrs: 18 Mins: 58 Seconds: 26

timetodoit, Go into the "avoiding relapsing" forum and you'll see a thread called "Century Club #5 (The Beach)." That's the place where "Centurians" or people with 100 days or more on their meters go to hang out. It was started many many many months ago by Duffis, and has now been relocated to the avoiding slipping and relapsing forum. When you hit 6 months, you go to the "villas" or the 6-12 club, and when you hit a year, you go to the VIP club. They are just some insentives to keep us going, all started by Duffis along the way. Hope that answers your questions. Crave the Quit! Pam p.s. Sorry Penguin... didn't mean to hijack your thread. :8o: My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/28/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 150 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,772 Amount Saved: $495 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 22 Mins: 50 Seconds: 38

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

18 years ago 0 1306 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Over the weekend, I let my addictive thinking get the best of me and after 107 smoke-free days, I went back to smoking. I made that choice, however stupid it was, and now I am choosing to return to my quit. I am not sure how many I smoked over the last 3 days, but I will tell you that I had to force myself to smoke just about everyone of them. It was awful...the smell, the taste, the nausea (that got so bad I nearly vomitted), the unrelenting headache, and yes the guilt. And just about every minute of the day I said, I want to quit, but it wasn't until today that I am able to say that I want to quit more than I want to smoke. Nicotine started to make me feel bad physically very quickly and that is one thing I refuse to give up is how great I was feeling before I chose to smoke that first one. So I have reset my meter and I will start at Day 1 tomorrow - cold turkey. I haven't lost those 107 days. That is what allows me to believe that quitting is doable, because I did it. I also know that the SSC is another reason why I had been successful and I will likely be using it more than before. I will do more ranting and raving, especially when the blues hit. Thanks to everyone for their support. Penguin
