I TOTALLY agree with Lady. I still haven't had a drink since New Years. I don't want to put myself in a situation where I won't be in FULL control of my quit. If you can not avoid this situation, please tell everyone with you about your quit and ask them to be your backup consciene. Good friends will make sure you don't smoke. Protect you quit, it's still a newborn. Alexa... do you and your friends have to go for drinks? Couldn't you go to a non-smoking resturant for a nice dinner? How about a movie, or walk along the river front? There are hundreds of options besides drinking. It's all about choice and that choice is yours to make. Alexa...Drinking and 14 days quit do NOT go together. I have seen so many people lose their quits over a few drinks. Personally, I would cancel. Your quit has to be the most important thing in your life if you want to be successful. Those first 14 days are hard earned and I'm sure you don't want to throw them away over a couple of drinks. Re-evaluate what this quit means to you. BTW...smoking is smoking, cigars, cigarettes, really doesn't matter. Don't play into the junkie thinking. Life is to short to spend in enslavement to the cigarette. Fight for your quit and win. I am day 55 smoke free. My husband and I belong to an organization that we go to a lot especially Friday nites. There are a lot of smokers. I made up my mind I was not changing my lifestyle because I quit. I have my cocktails but without the cigarette. It may not work for some people, but I have been able to do it. I am not giving up seeing my friends and going out because I no longer smoke. It controlled me enough, it was not controlling my fun time. Actually it has helped me because I notice how much people smoke and makes me glad I am kicking the addiction and feel sorry for them. It also makes me proud of myself. Good luck, you need to choose what is good for you.
